Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Community, the Brand Community Manager plays a key role in the continued success of SEGA’s many IPs and brands globally across various businesses, including games, consumer products, animation, and beyond.

The Brand Community Manager supports the Brand Marketing team by leading and managing strategic community marketing and communications plans for some of SEGA’s largest brands, including ATLUS, RGG and Legacy. Responsibilities include shaping and planning the strategy, content creation and asset oversight, asset development, influencer and community communications, reporting and performance analysis.

This position is a unique opportunity to help the ATLUS, RGG and Legacy brands thrive while supporting the fans and sharing the love of the fandom community around the globe. The ideal candidate brings seven or more years of Community Management or Brand Management experience within the gaming, entertainment or consumer products industries and is passionate about games and players. A strong interest for Japanese IP with familiarity across ATLUS, RGG and SEGA’s legacy brands is highly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Brand Marketing, Community, Public Relations, and Development teams across the Americas, EMEA, and Japan to lead the executive of overarching community strategies and campaign narratives for the ATLUS and RGG, Legacy brands.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for engaging community stories and content that will resonate with fans across platforms.
  • Support global internal teams across Licensing, Partnerships, and Brand, as well as key external partners (Film/TV/Streaming/Animation/Business Partners) with community content and programs as needed
  • Grow and nurture the ATLUS, RGG and Legacy fan communities ensuring reach across all segments of diverse players and achieving strong growth and engagement across all social channels.
  • Work closely with the Brand team to support the development and management of the community marketing strategies.
  • Partner with the influencer management teams to develop and optimize ATLUS and RGG influencer-facing Twitch and YouTube presence.
  • Work closely with U.S. Creative agencies in day-to-day operations to execute creative content and promotions.
  • Develop opportunities for fan community to engage with the ATLUS and RGG brands to aid in Brand-related campaigns.
  • Serve as a point of contact for brand community efforts across North America
  • Plan and coordinate live and virtual events that utilizes creators and community participation to support the growth of ATLUS and RGG brands while also contributing to their own growth.
  • Collaborate closely with product marketing community managers for post scheduling, channel management and health.
  • Analyze and report on earned community campaign results using quantifiable metrics.  Define KPI benchmarks across all brands and identify user sentiment, opinions, and actionable insights through social listening. 
  • Other responsibilities are performed as assigned or needed. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Working in-office is an essential function of this position. This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork.  In-office attendance is required for the following reasons:
    • For effective supervision of employees and our work product, which includes ensuring all employees have necessary oversight of their work and access to supervisory assistance, which includes meetings to review work product, deadlines, and status.
    • To foster communication and collaboration among team members, which includes the following: allowing for spontaneous brainstorming sessions and exchanges of ideas, quick access to team members to enable collaborative problem-solving, and stronger cohesion among co-workers and within teams.
    • To enhance the sharing of information necessary to effective job performance and product creation. 
    • To enhance understanding of our stakeholders’ work and business needs, facilitate a more seamless and organic workflow, and ultimately increase efficiency and successful outcomes.
  • Typically has 7+ years of experience in a community management or related role; experience in the gaming or entertainment industry preferred.
  • Strong project management and creative planning skills.
  • A strong passion for Japanese IP, with a deep familiarity with ATLUS, RGG and Sega’s legacy games.
  • Strong understanding of social platforms such as TikTok, Twitch, YouTube, and others, including a familiarity with the unique workings of each platform.
  • Solid knowledge of the content creation and influencer landscape within the gaming industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and reporting skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and with external partners.
  • Proficient with Photoshop, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and analytic measurement tools preferred.
  • Creative, collaborative thinker who contributes to improving unique workflows and processes.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, small-team environment and collaborating with overseas teams, including flexible hours as needed.
  • Good existing relationships with a wide range of influencers, from small to large, preferred, and the capacity to manage a growing database of contacts.
  • Positive, professional, and solutions-oriented attitude.
  • A passionate gamer with a strong knowledge of the ATLUS and RGG brands like Persona, Like A Dragon, Metaphor, Shin Megami Tensei, Raidou, Unicorn Overlord
  • Familiarity with SEGA’s Legacy IPs such as Shinobi and Crazy Taxi.  
  • Experience working with a Japanese game publisher is a plus.
