Description
The Maintenance Assistant Manager supports the Maintenance Manager in overseeing daily maintenance operations, ensuring all equipment, machinery and facilities operate efficiently and safely. This role involves supervising maintenance staff, coordinating preventive and correct maintenance, and assisting in implement process improvement to maximize uptime and operational efficiency.
This position is responsible for strict adherence to FIA company policies, procedures, and performance expectations by managing and coaching staff members, and by leading by example.
  • Help Lead Maintenance Department in daily activity under direction of Maintenance Manager
  • Support Departmental Hoshin
  • Responsible to help maintain and update Management Board in areas assigned by Maintenance Manager
  • Help to meet Maintenance budget
  • Monitor and control department hours and schedule Team members work hours and PTO
  • Oversee Maintenance new model launch activity. Trouble shooting of equipment, aid in all required tests and trial activities, ensure required spare parts are kept in-house or are available if in-house stocking is not practical
  • Support investigations using 5-Why analysis for Safety and Quality issues that occur
  • Uniformly enforce company policy and ensure Maintenance department follows the rules consistently
  • Maintain training records and ensure that new Team Members are adequately trained and all training records for department are maintained
  • Work with other departments to reduce scrap
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance process and cost efficiency
  • Kaizen processes to remove difficult work and be more efficient
  • Ensure team follows Change Point Management System to ensure correct use of system
  • Monitor, enforce rules, and train as needed for abnormal handling
  • Manage employee relations in coordination with Maintenance Department and Human Resources.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must have proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to take the initiative on new projects.
  • Must be able to work the company's required overtime.
  • Must comply with FIA's Attendance Policy.

Requirements
  • Three Years Maintenance Experience minimum. Preferably Automotive
  • Three Years minimum management experience required
  • FIA Management experience preferred
  • Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Effective communication and collaboration
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Commitment to safety and compliance
  • Solid understanding of FIA's processes, procedures, and policies
  • Familiarity with Toyota Production System (TPS)
  • Strong leadership, team development and communication skills
  • May travel occasionally by automotive and or airplane including trips to Canada and Japan.
