Job description

Position Title:Janitorial ManagerFTE/Classification:Full-Time ExemptShift:Monday - Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm, with evening, and/or weekend availability as needed)Salary:$58,000-$62,000 AnnualLocation:125 Atlantic St, Hackensack NJ 07601

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

- Provide direct oversight for the NJFH Janitorial Services Department, which includes but is not limited to growing new business, managing existing business, hiring/firing staff and managing employees. Will manage the Janitorial Department at the discretion of the Executive Director of Operations.

Performance Responsibilities: Although each position has its own unique duties and responsibilities, the following list applies to every employee of North Jersey Friendship House, Inc.:

- Works towards the accomplishment of department/Agency goals

- Maintains confidentiality and immediately reports to management breaches in confidentiality.

- Practices job requirements on an accurate, timely and regular basis

- Observes and maintains appropriate professional boundaries with members, co-workers, and supervisors.

- Attends all scheduled meetings assigned.

- Meets relevant continuing educational/training requirements.

- Completes all required documentation/paperwork accurately and within established time frames.

Essential Functions Include:

- Assist in the review and update of all janitorial contracts, ensuring contract specifications and scope of work are met.

- Provide oversight of all Janitorial Accounts, including: ACCSES, Source America, and private contract worksites.

- Assist in recruitment, training, management, and evaluation of workers.

- Train and empower all assigned staff.

- Ensure proper coverage is maintained at all sites.

- Manage staff and floater schedules.

- Perform 90-day and yearly staff evaluations.

- Maintain direct communication with Managers at all contracted sites.

- Select members for each job (in collaboration with their counselor and/or HR) and properly supervise work performed.

- Ensures that all staff adhere to established rules and regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Provides direct supervision to assigned staff to enhance their technical skills sets, leadership qualities and administrative functions.

- Provides on-going training and support for staff to ensure completion of job responsibilities.

- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency's policies, applicable laws, and governmental regulatory agencies.

- Reviews staff responsibilities to determine time frame and scope of authority, reviews staffing requirements, and allotments of available resources.

- Evaluates staff productivity and documentation of service delivery.

- Oversees staff assigned schedules, ensures staff attendance and documentation of attendance to assigned worksite.

- Consults with staff to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training new employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements:

- Minimum 1-year previous commercial janitorial experience

- Must have prior Manager/Supervisor experience

- Floor and carpet cleaning experience preferred

- Ability to handle multiple projects at one time and stay conscious of time restrictions.

- Must have a valid driver's license and transportation to get to and from work, as well as site visits as needed.

Schedule:

- This is a full-time position, based on a 40-hour workweek, and exempt from overtime.

- Regular schedule will be 8:00AM – 4:30PM Monday – Friday

- ½ Hour Lunch Daily is Un-Paid

- May be required to work after hours, or on weekends should the need arise
