Job description

Omni Oklahoma City Hotel
Come and join our team at this 605-room convention center hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Our luxury hotel is located next to the Paycom Center (OKC Thunder), the Oklahoma Convention Center and across the street from the 70-acre Scissortail Park. The property includes Mokara Spa, six food & beverage outlets, 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a retail outlet, fitness center, and rooftop pool.

J1 Food & Beverage Internship
Overview: The training phases will clearly demonstrate a balance between the participants learning opportunities and their contributions to the organizations in which they are placed. The participant to be introduced to Omni restaurant outlet's operations and services to gain knowledge of Omni's overall service standards and how operational roles interrelate to create a successful restaurant operation and to provide exemplary guest service experience.
Responsibilities: The participant will be able to master the below responsibilities during the length of the program:
Phase 1: Restaurant Introduction
  • The overall goal for this phase is for the participant to be introduced to Omni restaurant outlet's operations and services in order to gain knowledge of Omni's overall service standards and how operational roles interrelate to create a successful restaurant operation and to provide exemplary guest service experience.

Phase 2: Volume Restaurant Demands:
  • The goal and objective are for the participant to become fully familiar with advanced Food and Beverage service standards that would typically be performed within the operations and specifically gain valuable exposure and experience with the demands and expectations during a high volume time period. By the end of this phase, the participant should have obtained increased confidence and an advancement in their techniques, organizational skills and knowledge.

Phase 3: Food & Beverage Leadership and Business Activities:
The goal of this phase if for the Trainee to wrap up their training experience with increased feedback and training, build their leadership skills. Specific objectives will be for the Trainee to:
  • Experience more feedback from customer service skills and finding solutions.
  • Be trained to handle customer comments, complaints, or concerns.
  • Attend weekly trainings for the months of June-August focusing on managing training materials.

Qualifications:
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to multi task
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10lbs without assistance
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have alcohol training certification (ABLE)
  • Must have Food Handler permit
