Job Duties: The IVF Lab Assistant works collaboratively with the laboratory team. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records and data entry, preparing and handling laboratory supplies, and assisting the embryologists with daily tasks. The Lab Assistant reports directly to the Assistant Laboratory Director.

  • Assemble, organize, and file patient charts, freeze cards, FDA paperwork, and consent forms; conduct quality assurance/control of patient charts according to CAP guidelines.
  • Monitor lab emails, phones, and EMR, to answer questions, address requests, direct to appropriate resource, and follow-up through completion.
  • Enter patient information in Electronic Witnessing system, and affix labels on charts, incubators, media setup.
  • Scan completed IVF/FET lab forms into patient EMR for Doctor/Nurse reference and ensure IVF/FET cycles are sent to business office and genetics.
  • Data entry of completed cycles into EMR and national reporting database.
  • Interpret ART notes to enter and place orders in IVF Laboratory information system (LIS) and ensure Genetics’ CCS results are recorded in LIS.
  • Assist cryopreservation specialist with embryo scheduling, physical cyro-inventory, and embryo shipment documentation.
  • Maintain/update Cryoinventory database, Transfer database, and Harvest database; assist with data manipulation and presentation as needed.
  • Serve as a witness to the Embryologist during sample processing, vitrification, and warming.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED certification required.
  • Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • Medical lab experience preferred.
  • Computer database programs experience required.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, including computer keyboards and mice; telephones; photocopiers; scanners; filing cabinets. The employee is frequently required to sit; will occasionally stand and/or walk; use hands and fingers to grasp, pick, pinch, type; and reach with hands and arms. Employees should have the visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, and operation of standard office machines and equipment.

CCRM’s Compensation: The salary range represents the national average compensation for this position. The base salary offered will vary based on location, experience, skills, and knowledge.
