Job description

I. Position Details: DHOH Teacher- Contract

Location-This is a Tri-County Itinerant position based out of our Edinboro IU5 office.

Department: Early Intervention

Duration: For July and August only up to 25 hours total

Rate: $45.51/hour

II. Position Overview:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking applicants for a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher. An educator holding a valid Pennsylvania Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certificate is qualified to assess, develop individualized education programs, and teach students with hearing impairments. This is a position working as an itinerant in the areas that the IU services.

III. Required Qualifications:
- Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certificate
- Valid PA Teaching Certificate

IV. Desired Qualifications:
- Master's Degree

V. Essential Functions:
- Assess and teach deaf and hearing impaired students
- Develop individualized education programs
- Counsel special education students who are deaf or hard of hearing regarding the impact their hearing loss may have on their education
- Be able understand and apply applicable laws and policies
