Job description

Overview
The Junior Process Improvement Analyst supports continuous and process improvement initiatives across 84 Lumber by working closely with overhead departments, store operations and company management. This role serves as a collaborative partner to stakeholders, helping identify process challenges, analyzing business needs, and implementing solutions that improve efficiency and operational effectiveness. Through strong cross-functional relationships, the analyst will support projects focused on process standardization, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about continuous improvement. They will help evaluate current-state processes, identify efficiency opportunities, assist in deploying solutions, and prepare reperformance documentation.
Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and operational performance.
  • Develop clear executive-ready presentations, dashboards, and status reports for leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project activities including meetings, action items, timelines, and documentation, to ensure consistent project momentum.
  • Conduct process observations, data analysis, and stakeholder interviews to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and structured problem solving to address process gaps and operational challenges.
  • Support the design, testing, and deployment of automated solutions using tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, Excel, SQL, and other business intelligence platforms.
  • Contribute to system enhancement efforts and technology driven process improvements across business functions.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing, training, analyzing test results, and partnering with end users and other team members to resolve issues and validate functionality.
  • Document current state and future state workflows through detailed process maps, flowcharts, and standard operating procedures.
  • Track project outcomes, measure realized benefits, and report progress against expected performance targets.
  • Participate in post implementation reviews to confirm adoption, validate results, and identify opportunities for further optimization.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. 45+ Hours per week.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
The incumbent is located in a busy, open area and could be faced with noise and interruptions from day to day operations.
Physical Demands:
This position requires frequent sitting, use of hands, talking and listening. Periodically this position walks, stands and reaches. Rarely, this position climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouch or crawl.
Travel:
This position is not expected to travel as this time.
Qualifications
  • Ability to collect, organize, and analyze large amounts of data.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, SQL, or similar analytics tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates active listening skills to understand needs, gather input, and support team alignment.
  • Works seamlessly within team environments, contributing positively to group problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and desire to identify better ways of working.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in change management, process improvement, internal controls, business analysis, finance, or business operations.
  • Internship or co-op experience in finance, analytics, project management, or continuous improvement roles preferred.
