The Systems & Process Improvement Analyst provides analytical, facilitation, documentation, and implementation support for university-wide process improvement initiatives.

Working within the Innovation Hub’s Systems & Process Improvement Center, the Analyst partners with faculty, staff, administrators, subject matter experts, project teams, and technology partners to understand how work is currently performed, identify opportunities for improvement, develop future-state processes, and support implementation of sustainable solutions.

The position applies systems thinking, process analysis, data analysis, and continuous improvement methods to institutional operations. The Analyst examines the relationships among people, processes, policies, technology, data, organizational structures, and user experience to identify root causes and develop practical improvements.

The position expands the University’s capacity to conduct systems and process improvement work. It operates under the strategic and methodological leadership of the Director of Systems & Process Improvement and works collaboratively with Innovation Hub project management, workplace training, change leadership, and technology partners.

• Analyze current-state processes: Assess institutional processes, services, workflows, and business practices; engage stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand how work is performed; and document processes, handoffs, decision points, dependencies, variations, and areas of inefficiency.
• Identify improvement opportunities: Conduct root-cause analysis and apply process improvement, Lean, systems-thinking, and problem-solving methods to identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, consolidate, automate, redesign, or eliminate work.
• Design future-state solutions: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop improved processes, workflows, roles, responsibilities, controls, service models, and documentation; evaluate alternatives based on effectiveness, efficiency, feasibility, risk, cost, user experience, and institutional impact.
• Conduct business and systems analysis: Gather and document business and functional requirements; analyze relationships among processes, systems, data, policies, organizational structures, and users; and identify technology dependencies, manual work, duplicate data entry, and opportunities for automation.
• Support implementation and adoption: Translate recommendations into actionable implementation plans and support pilots, testing, rollout, and post-implementation review. Partner with project management, technology, training, and change leadership resources to support successful adoption of improvements.
• Measure and evaluate results: Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, establish baselines and performance measures, evaluate outcomes, and use findings and stakeholder feedback to determine whether improvements are achieving intended results.
• Develop and maintain documentation: Create and maintain process maps, workflow diagrams, requirements, standard operating procedures, process guides, recommendations, analytical summaries, and other materials needed to communicate and sustain improvements.
• Contribute to institutional improvement capacity: Develop and support repeatable tools, methodologies, and resources that strengthen the University’s overall capacity for systems and process improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, organizational development, public administration, information systems, data analytics, industrial or systems disciplines, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
• At least one (1) year experience analyzing processes, workflows, systems, operations, data, or organizational problems.
• At least one (1) year experience gathering, organizing, analyzing, and synthesizing information to support problem-solving or decision-making.
• At least one (1) year experience documenting processes, workflows, requirements, procedures, or other complex information.
• At least one (1) year experience working collaboratively on projects, initiatives, or operational improvements involving multiple stakeholders or functional areas.

• Three (3) years experience in higher education, government, healthcare, or another complex or decentralized organization.
• Three (3) years experience with Lean, Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, business process management, systems thinking, business analysis, or related methodologies.
• Three (3) years experiencedeveloping process maps, workflow documentation, business requirements, or other process-analysis deliverables.
• Three (3) years experiencesupporting technology implementations, workflow automation, system redesign, or other operational change initiatives.
• Three (3) years experienceanalyzing operational, performance, or organizational data to identify trends, opportunities, or areas for improvement.
• Three (3) years experience facilitating or supporting cross-functional projects, interviews, workshops, process discovery sessions, or implementation activities.

Salary will be between $55,000 - $65,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
