Job Description

Eataly's cheese department is home to 500+ of the highest quality cheeses specially sourced from Italy, internationally and locally. Many of the cheeses and meats are entirely exclusive to Eataly. A Deli Food Service Artisan prepares, packages, receives and stocks product. A Deli Food Service Artisan has passion for cheese and different types of Italian meats with the ability to share that passion with Eataly's guests. Reports to the Fresh Market Manager.

  • Cuts, prepares, and serves a variety of cold foods, including meats and cheeses
  • Samples products to customers.
  • Stocks hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods from kitchen, walk-in preparation, and refrigerators.
  • Checks in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotates when necessary.
  • Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
  • Assists with periodic inventory checks.
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
  • Cleans work station thoroughly
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Basic knife skills
  • Knowledge of cheese highly preferred
  • Knowledge of deli meats
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
  • Ability to use commercial equipment including scales, packaging machinery and a cash register
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions with customers, vendors, and Team Members.
