Job description

Job Title: IT Manager

As an IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the information technology operations of the organization. Your primary role will be to implement and maintain the technology infrastructure while leading the overall technological direction of the organization. Your strategic approach should align with the company's current and future goals, ensuring that the technology strategy supports their attainment.

A key aspect of your role will be to ensure the security and integrity of all company data, networks, and systems. You will limit access to authorized users only and stay current with the latest technologies and programs. It will be your responsibility to balance the benefits of adopting new technologies against the associated costs and potential short- and long-term loss of productivity. Your expertise in project management and strong prioritization skills will be crucial in managing staff and maintaining a high level of technology utilization and service.

Confidentiality is of utmost importance in the Technology Department, as you will be entrusted with maintaining sensitive company and employee data. You must understand the significance of maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive employee information and comply with legal requirements such as identity theft, data breach notification, and privacy laws like the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). COMANCO requires processes and procedures to secure and safeguard sensitive employee data and notify employees in case of any breach.

In addition to handling sensitive employee information, you will also maintain confidentiality regarding management or business information that is not available to non-management employees. This may include discussions about business strategies and processes, layoffs or plant closings, proprietary data, and major expansions.

As an IT Manager, you will have several key duties to perform. These include managing the Technology department by directing daily operations, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines. It will be essential for you to obtain and maintain a working knowledge of current and emerging software and technology. This will ensure that these technologies assist the company in reaching its business goals.

You will be responsible for developing network maintenance and growth plans, managing IT assets through IT Inventory Management, and leading large IT projects. Your role will also involve monitoring the performance of information technology systems, making recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure, and collaborating with departmental managers to determine network maintenance and growth needs.

Evaluating new technologies, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolution of user issues, and maintaining and replacing computer hardware and software according to industry best practices are also part of your responsibilities. You will oversee the administration and maintenance of end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights, and manage the corporate security system. Budget creation, providing IT training to employees, supervising the IT Support Specialist, managing third-party support vendors, and maintaining a good working relationship with the Managed Service Provider and all company departments are also included in your role.

Additionally, you will stay updated on changing network technology and provide a monthly technology update to the executive team. Completing any additional assignments as assigned by upper management will contribute to your overall responsibilities as an IT Manager.

COMANCO is an Equal Opportunity Employer: minority/female/disability/veteran

Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
