***POSITION IS ONSITE IN VENTURA, CA***

Job Summary

VSolvit LLC is currently seeking an IT Systems Administrator supporting the company’s headquarters located in Ventura, CA. The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for Network and Systems infrastructure in support of the company with its IT demands while creating a seamless and excellent experience for the users. The Systems Administrator will ensure that the corporate network, systems, servers and various development/production environments remain healthy and operational. This role will lead the effort to ensure the growing VSolvit network is working at its optimal performance level. The position serves as the primary resource for network monitoring/support, Windows Server (2016 and above) and Linux based OS support, and also supports the helpdesk ticket resolution process. Installation of network operating systems, LAN, WAN and VLAN components and the repair and replacement of network equipment will also be instrumental. The IT Systems Engineer will be proactive in anticipating the infrastructure needs of the organization. The IT Systems Engineer leads and is knowledgeable about various areas of asset management and software licenses. This is a hands-on technical role with the opportunity to grow one’s IT management skills in a growing and technically diverse Ventura based technology company.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support enterprise server, storage, and virtualization environments, including system upgrades, patching, and issue resolution.
  • Manage enterprise storage systems and backup solutions, ensuring data integrity, security, and reliable backup and recovery operations.
  • Design, deploy, and support LAN and WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless networks, MPLS, DMZ, and remote access technologies.
  • Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot network and systems infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Provision and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across systems and applications.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain virtual server environments to support business and support services requirements.
  • Provide advanced technical support and escalation assistance to desktop and end-user support teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan, implement, and deliver scalable IT solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Implement and maintain IT infrastructure in accordance with corporate policies, processes, standards, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Administer device management, endpoint control, asset tracking, and hardware/software license compliance.
  • Ensure the security of networks, systems, and data by implementing best practices and responding to security risks and incidents.
  • Support compliance initiatives and audits related to NIST/CMMC, ISO 20000, and ISO 27001 standards.
  • Identify and implement system improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform Linux system administration tasks, including disk partitioning, logical volume management, and filesystem configuration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support IT operations and business needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelors/College degree preferred or 4+ years of experience may substitute for degree
  • 5+ years Windows System Administration (2016 and above)
  • 5+ years in network administration and support
  • 3+ years Linux Administration, Preferably, RedHat 8 and 9, Debian and Ubuntu
  • 3+ years’ VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V or another virtualization experience
  • 2+ years Azure Cloud experience
  • Firewall experience with NAT and VPN required (SonicWall and Cisco)
  • Complete knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
  • Installation, configuring, and maintaining of server hardware, software applications and associated network equipment, to include SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology
  • Must be able to resolve problems independently or work with team members to drive solutions
  • Experience in supporting the application and troubleshooting issues
  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered.

  • Knowledge of VoIP systems and telephony is desired

  • Have current DOD security clearance or ability to obtain
