IT Operations Analyst

Soluna

Albany, NY • On-site

Full-time

Posted 22 days ago

Job description

Soluna is on a mission to solve one of renewable energy's biggest challenges: wasted power. Our data centers convert excess solar, hydro, and wind energy into productive computational work, such as Bitcoin mining, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. By co-locating with renewable power sources, we bring demand directly to the source, helping power plants increase revenue while contributing more megawatts to the grid.
We are looking for an IT Operations Analyst to join our world-class team.
What You'll Do
Our ideal IT Operations Analyst will be the technical backbone of Soluna's internal systems - owning identity management, security tooling, and compliance across a fast-moving organization. You'll work closely with the IT Director and our Managed Service Provider (MSP), serving as the internal authority for high-level configurations, audit readiness, and the processes that keep our technology stack secure and scalable.
This is a high-autonomy role for someone who thinks in systems, sweats the details, and takes genuine ownership. You won't just resolve incidents - you'll find the gaps before they become problems.
You will:
  • Configure and maintain SAML/SSO integrations across our SaaS stack, serving as the lead for all identity and access management
  • Manage Google Workspace security settings, including Admin Console investigations, domain-level controls, and the Security Investigation Tool
  • Deploy and tune MDR/RMM tooling; maintain a strong, well-documented security posture
  • Administer our enterprise password manager - user vaults, access policies, and company-wide password hygiene - and lead periodic Security Lunch & Learns
  • Enforce MFA standards and manage access control policies across the organization
  • Own the Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) process end-to-end, ensuring Rippling is the source of truth and all downstream systems reflect it accurately
  • Conduct quarterly User Access Reviews (UARs) to maintain SOX compliance and ensure off-boarding meets required timelines
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive library of SOPs, IT policies, and system guides written clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Review MSP ticket trends and SLA performance; when something recurs, you fix the process - not just the ticket
  • Own hardware inventory auditing (PCs, laptops, peripherals) and ensure MSP records are accurate and up to date
  • Lead monthly MSP service review meetings and serve as the internal escalation point for complex issues
  • Handle advanced configurations in Microsoft 365, Slack, and Google Workspace that fall outside MSP scope
  • Maintain the company intranet: content updates, guides, and internal resources
  • Own the Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) process end-to-end, ensuring the HRIS system is the source of truth and all downstream systems reflect it accurately

What you need to get the job done:
  • Hands-on experience configuring SAML integrations - you know what an ACS URL, Entity ID, and X.509 certificate are without Googling them
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace Admin Console, including the Security Investigation Tool and Drive audit logs
  • Solid Microsoft 365 administration experience
  • Background working in a compliance-driven environment - SOX, ISO 27001, or similar
  • Familiarity with MDR/EDR and RMM tools
  • A process-ownership mindset - you build systems that don't require you to be the hero every time
  • Clear, concise technical writing skills for both engineers and end users
  • Comfortable operating independently in a lean team environment

Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Rippling IT automation workflows
  • A track record of managing or holding accountable an MSP relationship
  • User Access Reviews that have held up under external audit scrutiny
  • Experience with Linux and Hypervisors
  • Interest in Bitcoin, HPC, and renewable energy

Why join Soluna?
We are a diverse, driven team of entrepreneurs, energy experts, private equity leaders, storytellers and engineers. We are passionate about making the world greener and we have conviction about how we will bring change on a global scale.
We are equally as zealous about championing our teams, relentless about developing our people, and believe strongly that Soluna's goals and commitment to our mission are strengthened by our employee's voices.
