Vertilocity, an IT services firm located in Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Colorado, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, seeks a dedicated System Engineer to join our dynamic team.

SUMMARY

A System Engineer leverages high-level critical thinking and advanced problem‑solving skills to support and configure client solutions. The role requires staying current with emerging technologies, providing on‑site client services, and maintaining detailed documentation. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to new solutions are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree or higher (or relevant military training)
  • 4‑6 years of Information Technology experience
  • Proficiency with PSA and RMM tools
  • Experience in switching, routing, and firewalls
  • Fortinet technologies (preferred); Cisco or SonicWALL experience is a plus
  • Certifications in switching, routing, or firewall technologies are a plus
  • Experience establishing static and software‑based VPNs
  • Microsoft Server networking and Azure Platform knowledge
  • Domain Services, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP experience
  • Remote Desktop Services and Azure Virtual Desktop experience (plus)
  • MCSA or MSCE certifications (plus)
  • Knowledge of Azure Services integration (AD Sync, AD Premium, Office 365 Management)
  • Solid writing skills and ability to record time and effort accurately
  • Ability to travel to client sites (local travel preferred)
  • Team‑oriented, open, and honest communication skillset
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver top‑tier, hands‑on support to assigned client accounts
  • Implement deployments and ensure adherence to Vertilocity standards
  • Manage escalated issues with technicians and conduct post‑review on resolved incidents

  • Manage backup and disaster recovery systems, ensuring proper backups and restore capabilities
  • Conduct proactive client visits to reduce IT risks and incidents
  • Track all time and expenses related to job responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Network Administrator to prepare deliverables for Quarterly Business Reviews
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement within assigned clients
  • Handle escalated tickets effectively
