Job description

Position Overview:

Due to our extensive growth and increasing reliance on technology and integrated business systems, we are seeking an IT Director to partner closely with our Leadership Team and Business Systems Team to ensure our IT strategy, infrastructure, cyber security and technology governance effectively support our business needs.

Reporting Relationship: The IT Director reports to the COO

IT Director Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that includes infrastructure, cybersecurity, data architecture and enterprise application governance
  • Participate in Leadership L10 meetings and strategic planning initiatives
  • Partner with executive leadership to leverage technology for scalability, efficiency, and customer service improvements
  • In partnership with the Business Systems team, create and maintain a multi-year technology platform plan to support the business

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team that includes infrastructure, help desk, security and technical engineering resources
  • Oversee hiring, training, performance management, professional development and succession planning
  • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented team culture

Technology Operations

  • Own uptime and performance of IT infrastructure, network operations, cloud and on-premise systems, enterprise applications, and data security
  • Oversee the installation and continued maintenance of facility infrastructure; including security, access control, video surveillance, and audio-visual systems for all HM Cragg facilities
  • Oversee telephony and communication systems across the organization
  • Establish and maintain IT governance, change management, and support processes that improve consistency and user adoption across the organization

ERP Systems Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership for the ERP platform including performance, support, and optimization
  • Alongside the Business Systems Leader, partner with Finance, Operations and Sales to ensure the ERP platform is stable, secure, and scalable
  • Support technology related initiatives for ERP upgrades, integrations, and system performance improvements from an infrastructure and platform perspective
  • Ensure appropriate user access controls, system performance, and platform reliability
  • Oversee vendors, consultants, and implementation partners to ensure successful delivery, issue resolution, and ongoing support of the IT platform (e.g., infrastructure, hosting, integrations), while partnering with Business Systems on application functionality and solutioning

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Implement cybersecurity protocols, risk mitigation strategies, and disaster recovery plans
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Oversee system access, data protection, backup strategies, and incident response readiness

Business Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver effective technology solutions that meet business needs
  • Act as a trusted advisor in technology enablement for department leaders and Business Systems to improve workflows, reporting, automation, and system utilization
  • Translate business needs into scalable, secure, and practical technology solutions

Financial Oversight

  • Develop and manage the IT budget
  • Evaluate technology investments, contracts, and vendor platform relationships
  • Prepare business cases for major IT initiatives

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics for IT operations and systems
  • Promote innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Provide technology enablement to support Business Systems and Department leader initiatives to streamline processes, improve reporting and analytics, and increase the effectiveness of business technology across the organization
