What does an IT quality assurance analyst do?

An IT Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for ensuring that software and technology products meet specified standards of quality before they are released. They design and execute test plans, identify bugs or issues, and collaborate with development teams to resolve problems. QA Analysts use both manual and automated testing methods to verify that systems function as intended, meet business requirements, and provide a good user experience. Their work helps prevent defects, improve product reliability, and enhance customer satisfaction.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an IT quality assurance analyst?

To thrive as an IT Quality Assurance Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, knowledge of software development life cycles, and a background in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, or TestRail, and relevant certifications like ISTQB are typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication help analysts excel in identifying issues and collaborating with developers. These skills ensure software reliability, enhance user satisfaction, and help organizations deliver high-quality products efficiently.

What are some common challenges IT quality assurance analysts face when testing new software releases?

IT Quality Assurance Analysts often encounter challenges such as rapidly changing project requirements, tight deadlines, and limited documentation. They must adapt quickly to evolving technologies and collaborate closely with developers and product managers to clarify ambiguities and ensure comprehensive test coverage. • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and modern software architecture concepts.
  • Availability for testing support outside standard business hours when required for post deploy verification.
  • Ability to work 100% on-site in Pontiac, Michigan.

Nice to Have:
