IT Project Manager
Sterling Heights, MI

We are hiring a Senior IT Project Manager in Sterling Heights, MI, to lead complex IT and manufacturing technology projects supporting mission-critical defense and armored vehicle programs. This role requires expertise in project planning, Agile and Waterfall methodologies, cross-functional leadership, manufacturing IT systems, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and enterprise project delivery within highly regulated defense manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with GDLS processes
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies to minimize impact on project success.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communication, providing regular updates and reports to leadership, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices, company standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and tools, leveraging industry best practices.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to project team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Proven success managing large-scale, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, SmartSheet, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certification.
  • Experience in running IT projects in support of a Manufacturing organization.
  • Familiarity with change management principles and tools.
