Job Title: IT Project Manager – R&D Technology Solutions

Location: Tarrytown, NY (Hybrid: Onsite 3 days/week required)

Pay Rate: $90.00 – $100.00 / hour

Contract Duration: 6+ Months (September – February, with potential for extension)

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to oversee R&D IT platforms, technical system integrations, and strategic initiatives within a leading biopharmaceutical environment. Positioning themselves at the intersection of scientific research and technical IT, this individual will lead cross-functional teams, align project deliverables with business objectives, and manage vendor relationships to deliver secure, scalable research solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project & Portfolio Management: Lead and manage multiple concurrent R&D IT projects supporting Research and Preclinical Development teams. Oversee project scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, budgets, governance, and executive communications.
  • Core Project Execution: Drive data management strategies for Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), oversee technical implementations for In Vivo research operations, and provide portfolio support for Precision Medicine IT initiatives.
  • System & Software Integrations: Coordinate scientific software implementations, upgrades, lifecycle management, and operational transitions. Support identity management and application integration initiatives, including Single Sign-On (SSO) efforts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with scientific stakeholders, IT teams, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Compliance to align requirements and facilitate change management activities.
  • Vendor & Asset Management: Drive vendor engagements—including evaluations, contract coordination, SLA monitoring, renewals, licensing, and procurement for essential research equipment and software.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 4+ years of project management experience within a pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or clinical research environment.
  • Technical Background: Demonstrated experience with scientific application implementations, in vivo research workflows, or lab data management systems. Strong working knowledge of R&D IT infrastructure and data storage/security standards.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Alignment: Proven track record managing vendor contracts, SLAs, software lifecycles, and cross-functional teams spanning IT, legal, and scientific operations.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
