Job description

The Site MES IT Coordinator will support Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementation and post-go-live support at the manufacturing site level. This role serves as the primary coordination point between site users, Global MES teams, IT, Infrastructure, ERP, offshore development teams, vendors, and implementation partners.

The role requires strong functional and technical knowledge of MES platforms and manufacturing processes to coordinate project delivery, site readiness, governance, business process reengineering, and support activities throughout the MES lifecycle, including implementation, go-live, hypercare, and steady-state support. The role also leads Production Support activities, ensuring timely incident resolution, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), stakeholder communication, and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

MES Coordination

  • Act as the primary site IT coordinator for MES projects and support.
  • Coordinate MES activities including requirements, design, testing, training, go-live, hypercare, support handover, and steady-state operations.
  • Work closely with Operations, Quality, MSAT, Validation, Site IT, Global MES, ERP, Infrastructure, vendors, and offshore teams.
  • Track site actions, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and readiness.
  • Gather business requirements, identify process gaps, and support business process reengineering.
  • Support site readiness for infrastructure, user access, shopfloor devices, printers, scanners, terminals, interfaces, and connectivity.
  • Coordinate testing, compliance, documentation, training, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain SOPs, work instructions, user guides, training materials, and support documentation.
  • Manage site-level MES governance, changes, priorities, escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Production Support

  • Lead Production Support activities and coordinate incident and problem management.
  • Ensure timely Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementation of permanent fixes.
  • Maintain the support knowledge base and service catalog.
  • Support application releases, configuration changes, monitoring, performance tuning, backup, and rollback planning.
  • Handle critical customer escalations and major incidents.
  • Publish performance reports and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Mentor team members and support knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting MES implementations or site IT project coordination in manufacturing environments.

Required Skills

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, coordination, follow-up, issue tracking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with Operations, Quality, MSAT, Validation, Site IT, Global MES, and offshore development teams.
  • Deep knowledge of MES platforms; Rockwell MES preferred.
  • Experience with Werum PAS-X, Siemens Opcenter, or similar MES platforms is a plus.
  • Understanding of MES integration with ERP, LIMS, automation systems, barcode systems, label printing, reporting systems, and shopfloor devices.
  • Experience managing site-level MES governance, priorities, risks, changes, issues, and support readiness.
  • Extensive experience managing Production Support incidents and issue resolution.
  • Experience coordinating distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage critical customer escalations.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, operating systems, IDEs, enterprise application support, and software platforms.
