Overview

The IT Intern will gain comprehensive, hands-on experience by rotating through all key areas of the Information Technology department—including Analytics, Support Services, Applications, Project Services, Network Services, Infrastructure, Architecture & Data, and Security. This rotational structure provides a well-rounded understanding of how technology supports and drives business operations across the organization.

Working closely with IT professionals and mentors, the intern will assist with both day-to-day technical operations and strategic projects, gaining exposure to system support, software development, network management, cybersecurity, and IT project management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented student to apply academic knowledge in a professional environment and explore various IT career paths.


Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured rotation through each IT function to gain insight into each area’s role and responsibilities and assist with ongoing projects.
  • Support ongoing IT initiatives by assisting with troubleshooting, maintenance, and implementation of hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Develop an understanding of the Ben E. Keith business and the role IT plays in the success of our business.
  • Collaborate with other interns on an end-to-end technology project with real business impact.
  • Consult with mentors and subject matter experts to resolve technical issues and enhance learning.
  • Tour company facilities to understand how IT enables operations across the organization.
  • Attend professional development workshops and team-building activities.
  • Present the final project and learnings to senior leadership at the conclusion of the program.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Must be a rising senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, mentors, and leaders across the organization.
