Description
Direct responsibility for overseeing the daily operations of the Information Technology department. Leads the IT team by creating and implementing IT management objectives, and implementing policies, procedures and processes to ensure key objectives are met. Ensures that organizational IT objectives are successfully achieved, primarily related to efficiency and cost. Assists the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in maintaining a plant wide commitment that the highest quality product possible is manufactured. The IT Manager is expected to inspire and lead their teams by setting the example and driving the 5 C's (Care, Commit, Connect, Communicate, & Celebrate)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides leadership and daily direction to Senior IT Analyst(s) and IT Analyst(s).
  • Oversees the manufacturing (MES), shipping and customer broadcast systems; Complicity, RSLinx, and MS SQL 20016-2019 installations; Microsoft Windows Servers; and applications such as Microsoft Office 365, SAP and others.
  • Manages hardware such as servers, PCs, printers, barcode printers, barcode scanners, touch screens, etc.
  • Manages groupware applications (Office 365).
  • Oversees the help desk system.
  • Ensures data backup and disaster recovery plans are in place, and security of network.
  • Monitors and strives to improve department KOI's.
  • Evaluates business needs and objectives and goals; research products available; obtains necessary equipment; and develops policies, procedures, and processes to best meet those needs.
  • Ensures operating system and software updates are implemented per company's guidelines.
  • Manages IT projects and resources from organization and planning, to testing and implementation.
  • Ensures all employees within the department (new and transferred) have received all required training in a timely manner.
  • Ensures the thoroughness and timely completion of scheduled performance reviews for all employees within the department.
  • Ensures all Company policies, procedures, plant standards, and safety rules are consistently adhered to.
  • Collaborates with the Human Resources Manager in the administration of disciplinary action, when necessary.
  • Supports and enforces the principles of Company goals and objectives, and decisions and policies by taking ownership and communicating these in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures.
  • Reports all unsafe and unhealthy conditions or acts to management immediately.
  • Reports injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately to your Supervisor.
  • Complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Michigan Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Ensures all employees and visitors have a safe environment in that safety and housekeeping standards are maintained; and all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected, and/or eliminated.
  • Responds to and investigates all reports of injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately.
  • Report on all issues that cause any downtime to operations to your supervisor.
  • Takes an active part in the division's safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, effectively investigates accidents/incidents promptly, and assists in meeting or exceeding the division's safety goals.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Ensures that organizational IT objectives are successfully achieved, primarily related to efficiency and cost. Assists the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in maintaining a plant wide commitment that the highest quality product possible is manufactured.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
Bachelor's Degree in information systems technology, Computer Science or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive IT experience in a JIT automotive manufacturing environment including a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory responsibility.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to customers, suppliers, vendors, management, employees and corporate personnel.
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem resolution and project management skills.
• Expert knowledge of computer hardware, software and network operations and capabilities.
• Expert knowledge with Active Directory administration; NET, ASP, HTML, Trans4M ERP, and Microsoft Windows; and Cimplicity, RSLinx, and MS SQL 2008. (SAP) experience-knowledge desired.
• Strong organizational skills; and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities within and across departments/business units to meet established and changing deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Work performed in an office and manufacturing plant environments. Normal mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Frequently exposed to varying temperature within plant depending upon external weather condition. Frequently walks, stands, grips/grasps, bends/stoops, crouches; and lifts and carries up to thirty (30) lbs. Occasionally my lift and carry up to fifty (50) lbs.
