Job description

Manager, Information Technology & Systems

Italian Centre Shop

Italian Centre Shop is looking for a relationship-driven IT leader who can see the big picture, understand how all the pieces connect, and make sure the details don't get lost along the way.

This isn't a role where we expect you to personally fix every computer, configure every server or be the expert in every system we use. We have internal resources, an outsourced IT partner and specialized technology vendors to help with that.

We need someone who can bring it all together.

What You'll Do

  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of our technology environment across multiple locations.
  • Manage our outsourced IT provider and specialized technology vendors.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of our networks, infrastructure, Microsoft environment, cybersecurity and business-critical systems.
  • Oversee retail technologies including POS, payments, scales, telecommunications and other store systems.
  • Lead technology projects, upgrades and new-store implementations.
  • Manage technology priorities, budgets, purchasing, licensing and lifecycle planning.
  • Ensure risks, issues and vendor commitments are followed through to resolution.
  • Build strong relationships with our stores and support teams and understand what they need from technology.
  • Keep our technology environment documented, organized and ready to support continued growth.

Who We're Looking For

You're someone who can operate at 10,000 feet without losing sight of what's happening on the ground.

You're organized, self-motivated and exceptionally good at managing multiple priorities. You build relationships easily, communicate well with both technical and non-technical people, and take ownership when something needs to get done.

You don't need to know every answer — but you know how to ask the right questions, find the right expertise and recognize when something doesn't make sense.

You bring:

  • Strong IT infrastructure and systems knowledge.
  • Previous exposure to network architecture and multi-site environments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, servers, networks, endpoints, cybersecurity, backup and disaster recovery.
  • Experience managing outsourced IT providers and technology vendors.
  • Strong project and time-management skills.
  • Experience supporting or overseeing legacy and integrated systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • The ability to manage people, projects, vendors and competing priorities.
  • Retail, POS, payment or other operational technology experience would be a definite asset.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who understands that technology is ultimately about supporting people and the business.

Italian Centre Shop is a growing, family-owned business with locations across Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Calgary. Our environment is busy, varied and sometimes complex — making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys seeing how the pieces connect and finding ways to make things work better.

This role is based in Edmonton and includes travel of up to 25%, primarily to support our Calgary locations and future store openings. As technology supports our operations seven days a week, some evening, weekend and holiday availability will also be required to provide leadership and coordinate support when business-critical issues arise outside of the core work hours.
