Job description

Chipton-Ross Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Level 4 IT Project Manager to lead our most complex, high-impact, and large-scale technology initiatives. As a Project Manager at HII, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish - working with cross-functional partners across the company, business stakeholders, IT Management, enterprise resources, managed service providers, and vendors. You will act as a strategic orchestrator to deliver measurable business value. You will be responsible for defining project scope, developing detailed plans, managing cross-functional teams, mitigating risks, and communicating progress to all stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a proven track record of delivering complex IT projects (such as cloud migrations, ERP implementations, or major infrastructure overhauls) on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, has a working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. This role bridges the gap between technical implementation and business impact-ensuring projects are aligned with strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities include: Full Lifecycle Management, Complex Problem-Solving, Strategic Planning, Stakeholder & Communication Management, Risk & Issue Management, Budget & Financial Management, Vendor & Contract Management, Quality & Compliance, Methodology & Mentorship, AI & Data-Driven Management, and Change Enablement.  

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or a related field, plus a minimum of 5 years of applicable project management experience successfully managing enterprise-level IT projects. Experience in heavily regulated industry such as defense or government contracting. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, ServiceNow PPM Module). Expert level knowledge of multiple project management methodologies. o PM o Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong technical background o Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical and executive audiences. o Advanced strategic thinking, analytical, and complex problem-solving capabilities, with a proven ability to deconstruct ambiguous issues and leverage data (including AI-driven insights) into actionable solutions. o Strong financial acumen and experience with complex budget management. o Experience managing projects within complex organizational structures involving outsourced partners and managed service providers. o Experience in shipbuilding or other manufacturing industry is highly desirable. o Strong understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and lifecycle management (data prep, model training, deployment). o Familiarity with cloud AI ecosystems (AWS SageMaker, Azure AI). o Experience working with DevOps or MLOps frameworks. o Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in complex enterprise environments. o Experience leading major cloud migration or digital transformation initiatives. o Ability to navigate ambiguity with ease while introducing the right level of structure Experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management module o AI Literacy: o Demonstrable experience with AI-powered project management tools for predictive scheduling, resource optimization, or advanced risk analysis. o Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts as they apply to the project management domain and IT operations.
