IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Summary

The primary duties of this position center onthe direction, development and maintenance of the companyโ€™s infrastructure, information management network services, and hardware and software capabilities. The successful candidate will be a technical generalist with a deep understanding of operating system, network, information security, database and storage technologies, web design and maintenance.

Position Responsibilities

TheIT Support Specialistwill handle a wide variety of situations and support the IT Manager in the following functions:

  • Design, manage, and maintain the company network, server, and workstation infrastructure.
  • Establish and implement security technologies, techniques and policy to protect corporate IT assets and data.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain the continuity of operations posture and backup procedures.
  • Manage services including Email, Active Directory and other network applications.
  • Monitor the performance and functionality of the Network and all associated hardware to ensure that they are working within established standards and perform necessary maintenance and upgrades on these systems.
  • Specification of equipment and services to maintain the companyโ€™s network, server, and computer system infrastructure.
  • Document all configurations and procedures for setup.
  • Design, plan, and implement additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure.
  • Provide insight and recommendations for the development and maintenance of corporate policies, procedures, and processes related to information technology.
  • Configure and maintain corporate web server and FTP Server for local and external access.
  • Plan, implement and maintain wireless networking infrastructure.
  • Maintain and administer printing, fax and scanning systems and supplies.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships and manage the purchase of hardware and software products.
  • Manage the purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT supplies.
  • Track assets and ensure accountability.
Education and Certifications
  • B.S. Information Technology or Computer Science preferred
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Microsoft Certifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Windows 10, 11, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware focused on Dell and other vendor systems
  • Experience troubleshooting printers, laptops, desktops, and other IT hardware to resolve issues
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and other common software platforms
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity
  • Networking concepts, TCP\IP, wiring, switching, etc.
  • Software configuration and troubleshooting skills
  • Apple OSX, Linux, knowledge is preferred
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting ability
  • Above average Interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings at various sites; strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 40 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
