Job description

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the IT Director, the IT Infrastructure Engineer is a hands on leader responsible for the design, installation, analysis, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all American Trim networks. This is achieved by supervising, planning, designing, developing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing hardware, software, and provisioned circuitry—ensuring the stability and integrity of in house voice, data, video, and wireless network services, as well as the information systems that support core organizational functions.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and deploy the company’s network infrastructure, including wired and wireless systems and the hardware and software that support them. Monitor performance to ensure reliable operation, adjust configurations as needed, and plan for future capacity.

Design and deploy new servers and applications, and implement enhancements to existing operating systems, applications, and software; evaluate system effectiveness and efficiency; develop strategies to improve, simplify, and better leverage those systems.

Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, network and application mapping, operational processes, and service records to support consistency and knowledge transfer.

Design system backup procedures and recovery processes that support disaster recovery and business continuity strategies; participate in testing and readiness reviews.

Participate in the operation and continuous improvement of network security solutions and controls.

Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure IT systemsrelated products and services; manage relationships to ensure value and reliability.

Provide support services and training for users, including crosstraining of IT staff to strengthen coverage, capability, and escalation handling.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing a personal network, and participating in professional societies.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education, Skills and Experience:                   

Associate degree in related discipline and four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge with Fortinet Solutions, Office 365, Ubiquiti Unifi & Hewlett Packard / Aruba network equipment & OS, Microsoft & Linux OS.  Microsoft desktop OS (all current versions from past 7 years) and above.  Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards.
