Job description

Performance Contracting Group (PCG) is seeking a Manager of IT Project Delivery in its' Corporate location in Lenexa, KS. This professional will lead and grow a team of project managers responsible for delivering strategic IT initiatives and scaling across the organization.

This role is a unique opportunity to shape the next evolution of project delivery at PCG. The successful candidate will lead a growing team, mature delivery processes and governance, improve communication and execution effectiveness, and help transition project management from a primarily IT-focused discipline to an enterprise-wide capability that drives business outcomes.

The Manager of Enterprise Project Delivery will work collaboratively with Technology, Transformation, Innovation, Operations, and business leadership teams to establish scalable practices that enable successful execution of strategic initiatives across the company.

This is a builder's role for someone passionate about creating structure, enabling teams, improving organizational effectiveness, and helping a growing organization deliver change with greater consistency and confidence.

What You'll Do

Lead and Develop a Growing Team

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of project managers supporting strategic initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Establish career paths, development plans, and best practices that promote professional growth and delivery excellence.
  • Create a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Scale team capabilities to support increasing organizational demand.

Advance Enterprise Project Delivery

  • Evolve project delivery practices from a technology-centric approach to an enterprise-wide operational model.
  • Develop frameworks, standards, and governance processes that improve project visibility, predictability, and outcomes.
  • Drive consistency in project planning, risk management, status reporting, stakeholder communication, and execution.
  • Establish scalable methods for managing complex cross-functional initiatives.

Drive Organizational Effectiveness

  • Improve how strategic work is planned, prioritized, communicated, and delivered across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to remove barriers, simplify processes, and improve delivery performance.
  • Develop meaningful metrics and reporting that provide leadership with visibility into project health, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
  • Help leadership teams make informed decisions through effective portfolio insights and communication.

Partner Across the Enterprise

  • Build strong relationships with leaders across Technology, Transformation, Innovation, Operations, and business functions to drive valuable outcomes.
  • Facilitate collaboration among teams with differing priorities and perspectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive sponsor and departmental leadership on project execution and delivery strategy.
  • Support IT and enterprise initiatives that require coordination across multiple teams and organizational boundaries.

Establish a Framework for Growth

  • Help define the future vision for project and portfolio management at PCG.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage modern tools, automation, AI, and emerging practices to improve delivery capabilities.
  • Balance governance with agility, ensuring teams remain focused on outcomes and value creation.
  • Build sustainable processes that support long-term organizational growth.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12-24 months, this leader will:

  • Successfully lead and expand a high-performing project management team.
  • Improve project visibility, communication, and transparency across the organization.
  • Establish scalable delivery standards and governance practices.
  • Increase stakeholder confidence in project execution and outcomes.
  • Strengthen alignment between strategic priorities and project investments.
  • Contribute to the creation a foundation for enterprise portfolio management that supports PCG's continued growth and transformation.

Salary range: $96,200 - $129,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience leading project, program, portfolio, or delivery management functions.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, including managing and developing project managers.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience creating or maturing project management practices, governance models, or PMO capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence outcomes across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading enterprise PMO or portfolio management functions.
  • Experience supporting organizational transformation, operational improvement, or strategic initiatives.
  • Familiarity with project portfolio management technologies and reporting platforms.
  • Experience leveraging AI and automation tools to improve work management and project delivery practices.
  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, or related certifications.

Who Thrives in This Role

This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys building, improving, and scaling capabilities rather than simply maintaining existing processes.

The right candidate is energized by creating clarity in complex environments, developing people, improving organizational effectiveness, and partnering across diverse teams to drive meaningful business outcomes.

They are equally comfortable discussing delivery risks with project teams, facilitating alignment among business leaders, and helping executives gain visibility into strategic priorities.

What This Role Is Not

  • This is not a traditional project manager position focused solely on managing individual projects.
  • This is not a project coordinator or administrative PMO role.
  • This is not a technology-only leadership position.
  • This is not a replacement for broader enterprise transformation leadership responsibilities currently under evaluation and more formal enterprise PMO structure.
  • This role is focused on building the people, process, governance, and execution capabilities that enable successful delivery across the enterprise.

Why This Opportunity Matters

PCG is at an exciting point in its growth. As strategic initiatives continue to expand across technology, operations, innovation, and business functions, the company is investing in stronger enterprise delivery capabilities.

This leader will have the opportunity to build a lasting framework for how strategic work gets accomplished across the organization, helping shape the future of project delivery while developing a high-performing team that drives meaningful business impact.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
