Job description

Role Summary

Our client is seeking an IT Infrastructure Administrator to support and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud platforms, virtualization, and core business systems.

This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of server and network environments while ensuring system reliability, security, and performance. The position also supports infrastructure projects, research emerging technologies, implements automation initiatives, and collaborates with cross-functional IT teams to meet evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise server, network, hardware, software, and infrastructure systems.
  • Manage Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, software updates, antivirus, backups, and cloud-hosted systems.
  • Configure and support Cisco networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewall appliances.
  • Maintain virtualization environments, including VMware, and ensure reliable operation of virtual servers.
  • Install, upgrade, and integrate server and networking hardware, software, and infrastructure components.
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize reliability and availability.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery documentation and infrastructure documentation.
  • Collaborate with systems administrators, network administrators, help desk staff, and business users on infrastructure improvements and support initiatives.
  • Support infrastructure capacity planning, storage management, and overall system performance.
  • Implement security best practices, endpoint protection, access management, and authentication solutions, including Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Audit user access across on-premises and cloud environments to maintain security and compliance.
  • Automate routine infrastructure administration tasks to improve operational efficiency.
  • Participate in infrastructure projects from planning through implementation while providing regular project updates.
  • Support enterprise technology integration initiatives that improve business operations.
  • Provide technical documentation, recommendations, and support for infrastructure upgrades and new technology implementations.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or related field (bachelor's degree preferred), or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar infrastructure role.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server (2016 or newer), Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Experience managing Cisco networking environments, including routing, switching, wireless networking, LAN/WAN, and firewall technologies.
  • Experience with VMware or similar virtualization platforms.
  • Knowledge of enterprise security practices, endpoint protection, backup solutions, disaster recovery, and data protection.
  • Experience installing, upgrading, and supporting enterprise server and network hardware.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across server, network, and infrastructure environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively within an IT team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), CompTIA Network+, Server+, A+, CCNA, or CCNP.
  • Experience with enterprise IP telephony systems.
  • Experience implementing automation within infrastructure administration.
  • Knowledge of identity management, authentication technologies, and Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Experience evaluating infrastructure solutions, performing cost analysis, and supporting enterprise technology planning.
  • Experience deploying enterprise infrastructure solutions in production environments.
