Description

NexGen Data Systems is seeking an IT Infrastructure Security Specialist. The IT Infrastructure Security Specialist shall perform tasks to support the security of a facility and infrastructure to include risks assessment, investigations and conducting employee background checks and security clearance investigations.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze security alerts, investigate cyber and physical security incidents, and coordinate response actions.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk evaluations across IT and facility environments.
  • Monitor and correlate cyber and physical access events to identify potential insider threats or unauthorized access.
  • Implement and maintain security controls for networks, servers, virtualization platforms, cloud services, and supporting facilities.
  • Coordinate implementation and sustainment of physical security measures including controlled access systems, surveillance systems (CCTV), intrusion detection systems (IDS), and badge/access management for data centers and IT spaces.
  • Manage receipt of security documents submitted from applicants
  • Verify the appropriate level of background investigation being requested
  • Ensure all documents required for suitability processing are included and completed properly
  • Conduct agency checks and evaluate results including but not limited to credit reports and processing fingerprint cards
  • Identify potential reciprocity and previous investigations
  • Assist other teams (Investigations, EOD, File Room, etc.) on special projects as needed

Requirements

Desired/Required Skills:

  • Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance required.
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or CompTIA SecurityX
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines
  • Must be a fast learner and self-starter
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual/presentation, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment
  • MS Office and the ability to navigate between multiple programs simultaneously
