Job description

Job Description: 

The IT Intern will assist Pace's Information Technology Department with the data center's daily operations, which involves racking and configuring servers. Essential functions include:

  1. Racking and removing servers from racks, along with cabling.
  2. Documenting equipment locations and labeling equipment in the data center.
  3. Assisting in the configuring and building of servers.
  4. Working independently on various projects.
  5. Performing other duties as assigned. 

Internship Duration:

Monday, June 1, 2026 - Friday, August 14, 2026

Hours Per Week: 

Up to 37.5 Hours Per Week

Rate of Pay: 

$19/hr

Location: 

Pace Suburban Bus Headquarters, 550 W. Algonquin Road Arlington Heights, IL 60005

Working Conditions: 

This position is based in an office setting with standard office equipment. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. However, the business needs of Pace may result in work schedules outside the typical hours/workdays. 

This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote telecommuting. 

Qualifications

Age:

Must be 18 years of age or older. 

Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year accredited college or university and working towards a degree in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science and Analytics, or other related field. 

Licenses/Certifications:

Must possess a valid driver's license. 

Proficiencies: 

Must demonstrate working knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite applications. IT Systems experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

Ability to sit for extended periods of time, frequently stand and/or walk within an office environment, lift and carry up to 25lbs, use a keyboard and type for prolonged periods.
