Our client, a leader in technology solutions, is seeking a Data Center IT Hardware Technician to join their team. As a Data Center IT Hardware Technician, you will be part of the IT department supporting critical infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Data Center IT Hardware Technician
Location: Boydton, VA
Pay Range: $24- $26/hour on W2 based on skill level & experience
Shift: Day & Night Shifts available
What's the Job?
  • Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of IT equipment, following specific instructions and safety protocols.
  • Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues, quickly identifying causes and performing break-fix repairs on faulty components.
  • Decommission hardware for system refreshes, including memory upgrades and OS rebuilds.
  • Monitor systems for equipment failures or errors and respond to program error messages effectively.

What's Needed?
  • Computer Science majors OR CompTIA A+ or Server+ certifications.
  • Experience as a Data Center Technician, with hardware break-fix responsibilities.
  • Previous experience with Geek Squad computer repair or similar computer repair technician roles.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • 1 - 5 years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and/or holidays.
