What we need:

The Sr Manager Accounting is a senior-level manager that proactively oversees the daily operation of rebate and commission accounting. This role is responsible for preparation and review of journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, SOX and company compliance, and financial reporting management.

What you’ll do:
  • Manage the close process for assigned areas, review and analyze financial data, and prepare financial reports, all in compliance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Accounting Standards (IAS), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
  • Assist in the prioritization of IT projects related to rebates and commissions.
  • Perform, review, and approve user acceptance testing for IT projects.
  • Review and approve customer contract setup in the rebate system.
  • Review and approve rebate and commission payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of footnote related accounting information to be included in SEC reports and the Annual Report for shareholders.
  • Play a leadership role in acquisitions and mergers, system implementation, conversions, and upgrades.
  • Review processes and procedures to streamline activities, enhance the overall workflow of the department, and facilitate effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse group of employees.
  • Ensure that all procedures, practices, and policies align with GAAP, IAS, and SEC.
  • Research and document financial fluctuations and collect data to verify accuracy of fluctuations.
  • Facilitate quarterly and annual audits and serve as a liaison for internal and external auditors.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
What you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 8-10 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 3-5 years of management experience.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IAS, and SEC.
  • Proficiency in software such as Vistex, Recon-net, SAP, JDE, Microsoft Office applications, etc.
