CoVerica is a premier, employee-owned independent insurance agency with over 40 years of history, and we're actively expanding across the Dallas-Fort Worth market. We're looking for an IT Director to own our technology strategy, infrastructure, and security posture as the agency continues to grow. You'll lead our IT function end to end, from day-to-day systems and Microsoft 365 administration to cybersecurity fundamentals and vendor management, while building the team and processes that keep CoVerica running securely and efficiently.
This role is based on-site at our Dallas-Fort Worth office. After an initial acclimation period, there is the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule.
A Little Bit About CoVerica
  • Recognized as a Top 10 DFW Fastest Growing Property & Casualty Insurance Agency by the Dallas Business Journal.
  • In business for over 40 years, with an in-place succession plan to remain independent for the next 40.
  • Part of the national SIAA network, representing nearly $12.5 billion in insurance premium together.

Why CoVerica?
Because you shouldn't have to choose between the resources of a national carrier and the culture of a true independent. At CoVerica, you get both:
  • The market access, carrier relationships, and technology of a premier, growing agency with over 40 years of history.
  • The agility, autonomy, and true sense of ownership that only an independent, employee-owned firm can offer.
  • A team that lives by two simple rules: we treat others as ourselves, and we do the right thing, even when it hurts.

As IT Director here, you're not just keeping the lights on. You're building the technology foundation and the security discipline behind a growing independent agency.
What You'll Do
IT Strategy & Infrastructure
  • Own CoVerica's overall IT strategy, infrastructure, and application ecosystem, partnering with executive leadership to align technology investments with agency growth and operations.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain core business applications and IT infrastructure that support agency operations, including hardware, network, and cloud environments.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network systems.

Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Tools
  • Administer and optimize the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Entra ID (Azure AD), ensuring secure and efficient collaboration across the organization.
  • Manage user provisioning, licensing, permissions, and security policies within Microsoft 365.

Security & Business Continuity
  • Oversee foundational cybersecurity practices, including Managed Detection and Response (MDR) monitoring and coordinated threat response with managed security partners.
  • Manage Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR) solutions to protect agency and client data and ensure business continuity in the event of an outage or incident.
  • Administer Kaseya (or a comparable RMM/endpoint management platform) for endpoint monitoring, patch management, and remote support across the agency's device fleet.
  • Maintain IT security practices that support the data protection expectations of insurance carriers, vendors, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Team & Vendor Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop IT support staff, and/or manage outsourced or co-managed IT and security vendor relationships.
  • Set priorities, manage IT projects, and hold the team and vendors accountable to service levels and deadlines.
  • Manage the IT budget, procurement, and vendor contracts.

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to automate, modernize, and improve IT processes and systems as CoVerica continues to grow.
  • Document IT procedures and maintain a scalable, well-organized technology environment.

What You'll Bring
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive IT experience, including experience leading a team or function.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune or similar endpoint management tools.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including MDR, BDR, and general data protection practices.
  • Experience administering an RMM/endpoint management platform such as Kaseya.
  • Experience managing IT vendors, contracts, and budgets.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical colleagues.
  • A proactive, process-oriented approach to IT management, with a focus on documentation and continuous improvement.
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus but not required.

Our Culture & Work Style
We operate by two simple rules: do the right thing, and treat people the way you'd want to be treated. That mindset shapes how our IT team supports the agency, with responsiveness, patience, and genuine care for the people who depend on the systems we manage.
What You Can Expect From CoVerica
  • Competitive compensation aligned with your experience.
  • Employee ownership through our ESOP, so your work builds real, tangible value.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and a supportive, collaborative team environment.
