It is an IT communications manager’s job to convey company messaging related to information technology (IT) issues. These messages may be crafted to go out to the company employees as well as the general public. The nature of these messages can also be related to marketing efforts, such as the release of a new software program or technology upgrade. To succeed in this career, you need to be able to draft and write messages in such a way as to make complex technical concepts easy to understand for audiences that may be non-technical. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in communications or public relations, some related experience, and strong writing and speaking skills.
