Job description

The Perfect Addition to Our Team

You are a solutions-oriented IT professional who thrives in a fast-paced, science-driven environment. You're equally comfortable supporting scientists in the lab and business users at their desks. You understand the importance of uptime, data integrity, and compliance in a regulated life sciences setting.

You take the initiative, solve problems independently, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical users. You bring a strong service mindset, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to operational excellence.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Support Associate to provide technical support for users in a life sciences environment.

In this role, you will serve as a key IT resource-resolving escalated issues, supporting lab systems, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for scientific and business teams. You'll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, contribute to IT projects, and help maintain compliance across all IT-supported systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced contractor who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and can quickly adapt to the unique needs of a biotech or pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities

End-User & Desktop Support

  • Provide Tier 2 support for escalated technical issues involving desktops, laptops, mobile devices, video conferencing, and peripheral equipment
  • Support Windows and macOS environments, Microsoft 365 applications, and common collaboration tools (e.g. Zoom, Teams)
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding, access management, and software installation
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventories and ensure consistent patching, antivirus, and encryption compliance
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and system configurations

Lab Systems & Infrastructure Support

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain laboratory IT systems, include instrument PCs, data acquisition software, and integrations with enterprise platforms (e.g. ELN, Sciex, LIMS, Waters, Chromeleon, Cytiva, ThermoFisher and SDMS)
  • Support connectivity between lab instruments, networks, and data storage solutions
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues for lab equipment, instrument controllers, and specialized applications
  • Ensure system uptime, stability, and performance for scientific workflows
  • Follow IT SOPs, change management, and validation procedures for lab systems
  • Ensure scientific data is properly backed up, stored, and retrievable
  • Enforce security policies for lab systems, including patching, access controls, and audit trails.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with onsite, remote, and other IT onsite personnel to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions
  • Partner with vendors for instrument/software upgrades, repairs, and integration projects
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in laboratory informatics and IT infrastructure
  • Drive automation and process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce manual effort
The Necessities

At Entrada, our passion for science, our devotion to patients and our values drives our behavior:

  • Humanity - We genuinely care about patients and about one another.
  • Tenacity - We are relentless and persistent in the pursuit of developing therapies for patients.
  • Creativity - We are creative problem solvers.
  • Collaboration - We are more than the sum of our parts.
  • Curiosity - We have a growth mindset and push conventional thought and theory.

To thrive on our team, you will need to come with:

  • Associates degree with 2+ years of IT support experience in life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical companies providing end user support, with ideally 1+ year support laboratory systems
  • Working knowledge of lab systems (e.g. ELN, Sciex, LIMS, CDS, Cytiva, ThermoFisher, and SDMS) and scientific instrument integration
  • Proficiency in Windows, macOS, networking, and endpoint management
  • Strong knowledge of Azure AD, Office 365, and cloud file sharing platforms (e.g. Egnyte, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Familiarity with endpoint management systems (e.g. JAMF Pro, Automox, NinjaOne, Intune, Endpoint Privileged Management) and ticketing platforms (e.g. Freshservice)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Desire to work in an innovative and collaborative environment
  • This position is a long-term contract opportunity with an on-site working model, with in office attendance during core working hours 4-days a week at the Entrada Therapeutics Headquarters in Boston, MA. #LI-JF1#LI-Onsite
