Job description

Responsibilities

Position Summary 

The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex information technology projects supporting mission-critical systems. This position leads cross-functional technical teams, manages project scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and serves as the primary interface between government stakeholders, contractor leadership, and technical personnel. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements, security policies, and government standards. 

This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as experience managing IT initiatives within classified environments. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of multiple IT projects supporting mission operations. 
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), project plans, and resource allocation plans. 
  • Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and performance metrics in accordance with contract requirements. 
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, software development, and operations teams. 
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies while providing timely status updates to government stakeholders. 
  • Facilitate project meetings, technical reviews, integrated product team (IPT) meetings, and executive-level briefings. 
  • Track project performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and earned value or other program management methodologies, as applicable. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal security policies, contractual requirements, and organizational quality standards. 
  • Support Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid project management methodologies as appropriate for each project. 
  • Manage project documentation including schedules, status reports, action items, change requests, and decision logs. 
  • Collaborate with government leadership to prioritize requirements, define project objectives, and align technical solutions with mission needs. 
  • Coordinate vendor and subcontractor activities when applicable. 
  • Support contract deliverables, reporting requirements, and continuous process improvement initiatives. 
  • Foster collaboration and effective communication among geographically dispersed and multidisciplinary teams. 
Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D., 16 years with a HS Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years supporting IC or DOE customers. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent IT projects with cross-functional technical teams. 
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, risk management, scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning. 
  • Experience managing software development, infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT initiatives. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and technical personnel. 
  • Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar platforms. 
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. 
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, SAFe, or other Agile certification. 
  • Experience supporting classified cloud environments, including AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other secure cloud platforms. 
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and IT Service Management (ITSM). 
  • Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and cybersecurity compliance frameworks. 
  • Experience managing programs under federal acquisition regulations and performance-based contracts.

Target Salary Range$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
