Position Summary: The IT Applications Manager (SAP) is responsible for the strategic oversight, implementation, management, and optimization of SAP applications within the organization. This role involves leading a team of professionals to ensure SAP systems are efficiently supporting business processes, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring system integrity and security. The IT Applications Manager (SAP) will work closely with other IT and business teams to align SAP capabilities with business objectives, provide support, and ensure continuous improvement.

SAP Application Management:
  • Oversee the implementation, configuration, and management of SAP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP FICO, SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP HR, etc.).
  • Ensure the SAP environment runs optimally, providing support for day-to-day operational issues and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with business units to align SAP solutions with organizational goals.
  • Manage SAP upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.

Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SAP specialists, providing guidance on best practices, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline business processes and improve system functionality.
  • Drive process improvements through the integration of SAP solutions.
  • Analyze performance and suggest enhancements to improve the efficiency and scalability of the SAP environment.

Project Management:
  • Lead and manage SAP-related projects, ensuring timely and successful implementation of new modules, functionalities, and updates.
  • Prepare and maintain project plans, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with vendors, third-party consultants, and internal stakeholders for project delivery.

Security and Compliance:
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the SAP environment, including user access, data privacy, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Implement best practices for SAP security and ensure all systems are compliant with company policies and standards.

Support and Troubleshooting:
  • Provide second-line support for SAP-related issues, coordinating with other IT departments and external vendors as necessary.
  • Resolve complex technical issues related to SAP functionality, performance, and integration.

Reporting and Documentation:
  • Develop and maintain documentation on SAP configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Prepare regular reports on system performance, project status, and other key metrics for senior management.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., SAP certifications) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing SAP systems, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Hands-on experience with various SAP modules (e.g., SAP FICO, SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP HR, etc.).
  • Strong experience with SAP system upgrades, enhancements, and support.
  • SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate) preferred

Language Ability:
Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.
Mathematical Ability:
Comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, algebra and advanced statistical theory. Work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
Reasoning Ability:
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products word processing software, SAP, SAP ABAP and SAP ERP.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 2-4 non-supervisory employees in the IT Applications Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
