Position Summary

The Director of IT Applications is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, implementation, and support of business applications supporting Sedgwick Repair Solutions' property repair business. This role leads a team of developers, analysts, and third-party partners responsible for delivering scalable technology solutions that support contractor networks, carrier integrations, claims workflows, customer experience, and business operations.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience leading Salesforce application development teams, including hands-on knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), integrations, automation, and enterprise architecture. This leader will partner closely with Product Management, Operations, Sales, Client Services, and Executive Leadership to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the application technology roadmap for Sedgwick Repair Solutions.
  • Align technology investments and priorities with business objectives, growth initiatives, and customer needs.
  • Lead application modernization efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, AI solutions, and automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Champion Agile development methodologies and product-centric delivery models.

Salesforce Platform Ownership

  • Serve as executive technology owner for Salesforce-based solutions supporting property repair operations.
  • Provide architectural oversight for:
    • Apex development
    • Lightning Web Components (LWC)
    • Visualforce (legacy support)
    • Salesforce Flow
    • Platform Events
    • APIs and integrations
    • Experience Cloud Communities
    • Salesforce Maps
    • Managed packages and AppExchange applications
  • Establish Salesforce development standards, governance, security controls, and release management practices.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability of the Salesforce ecosystem.

Application Development & Delivery

  • Lead multiple application delivery teams responsible for:
    • New feature development
    • System enhancements
    • Production support
    • Application integration
    • Technical debt reduction
  • Oversee application lifecycle management from requirements through deployment and ongoing support.
  • Drive prioritization and execution of strategic initiatives while maintaining operational stability.
  • Ensure solutions meet business, security, and compliance requirements.

Integration & Enterprise Architecture

  • Oversee integrations between Salesforce and internal/external platforms, including claims, contractor management, vendor management, financial, and reporting systems.
  • Partner with enterprise architecture and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with corporate standards.
  • Promote API-first design and reusable integration patterns.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop managers, developers, business analysts, architects, and support personnel.
  • Build a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative technology organization.
  • Conduct workforce planning, hiring, succession planning, and talent development activities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as primary technology liaison for Repair Solutions leadership.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and business stakeholders to define priorities and measure outcomes.
  • Communicate project status, risks, budgets, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.
  • Build strong partnerships with vendors, consultants, and technology providers.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Manage application budgets, forecasting, and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to application performance, delivery effectiveness, and business value realization.
  • Oversee incident management, problem management, and service level adherence.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure applications comply with corporate security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with security teams to address vulnerabilities, access controls, audits, and data protection requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate governance, change management, and disaster recovery processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT application leadership experience.
  • 5+ years leading managers, software development teams, and enterprise application portfolios.
  • 7+ years of Salesforce platform experience.
  • Deep technical knowledge of:
    • Apex development
    • Lightning Web Components (LWC)
    • SOQL/SOSL
    • Salesforce Flows
    • Salesforce APIs
    • Integration architecture
    • DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • Experience managing Agile software development organizations.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based application architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Proven success delivering large-scale technology initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within property insurance, claims management, restoration, contractor networks, or loss adjusting industries.
  • Experience with:
