The Director, IT Store Applications is responsible for leading the strategy, roadmap development, and execution of technology initiatives supporting all store operation functions including POS, inventory management, handheld devices, labor management etc. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that technology capabilities enable business agility, operational efficiency, and scalability across a large, complex retail organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong technology leadership, program delivery expertise, and business partnership skills to drive impactful solutions in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment. This leader will champion a culture that emphasizes simplicity, speed of execution, collaboration, accountability, and transparency.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute multi-year technology roadmaps for all applications supporting stores, store operations and field organization.

  • Align IT strategy with enterprise priorities, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable business value and support long-term scalability.

  • Evaluate and implement modern technologies and platforms that simplify processes and improve operational efficiency.

  • Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining high standards for quality and security.

  • Serve as a strategic technology partner to senior leaders across store operations and field leadership.

  • Foster strong relationships with functional leaders to ensure alignment between IT delivery and business priorities.

  • Translate business needs into technology solutions that enable productivity, automation, and data-driven decision making.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance, regulatory requirements, and security standards.

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of IT professionals and delivery partners.

  • Display and promote behaviors including accountability, simplicity, speed, empowerment and transparency.

  • Manage relationships with key technology vendors, system integrators, and consulting partners.

  • Key Success Metrics include:

    • Successful delivery of strategic roadmap initiatives.

    • Improved operational efficiency and system reliability in Store Applications.

    • High stakeholder satisfaction across stores and Field.

    • Effective cost management and ROI from technology investments.

    • Development of a high performing, engaged IT team.

Position Requirements:

  • Office work environment, 40+ work hours per week

  • On Call Support

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with 5+ years of managing large, cross functional teams or projects in a retail environment.

  • Strong understanding of retail systems (POS, ERP, CRM, inventory, supply chain).

  • Proven experience leading enterprise-scale transformation initiatives.

  • Ability to positively influence key stakeholders and senior level leadership.

  • Ability in developing, presenting and communicating technical concepts to varying audiences.

  • Possesses a high amount of sense of urgency as well as the ability to motivate a team towards achieving results in a dynamic environment

  • Triversity POS, RMS, Workday and Lawson knowledge highly preferred
