Key Responsibilities

The HYROX Coach & Personal Trainer is an energetic and dynamic coach responsible for leading HYROX group training experiences, delivering exceptional personal training, and helping build the community around the FX HYROX Training Club. This essential role combines the best aspects of personal training, small group coaching, and athletic performance coaching.ย 


A detailed list of key responsibilities of the HYROX Coach & Personal Trainer is below. TEAM FX is constantly evolving and although the below are the core responsibilities of the HYROX Coach & Personal Trainer, this role may evolve, and responsibilities may change.

  • Lead high-energy HYROX group training classes using functional fitness, endurance, and race-specific coaching principles.
  • Coach athletes of all fitness levels with clear instruction, motivation, safety awareness, and scalable training options.
  • Deliver exceptional one-on-one personal training experiences, including consultations, goal setting, movement assessments, and customized coaching.
  • Assist members with HYROX race preparation, performance goals, pacing strategies, and competition readiness.
  • Track athlete progress and performance metrics, including training benchmarks leaderboard results, and race simulation outcomes.
  • Participate in and help execute race simulations, competitions, community events, and HYROX-focused member experiences.
  • Build strong relationships with members, personal training clients, and group training participants to foster accountability and community.
  • Help grow, promote, and elevate the HYROX program through member engagement, program support, and collaboration with the entire FX team.
  • Support the use of official-style HYROX equipment, including SkiErgs, RowErgs, competition sleds, dedicated turf training areas, and other performance tools.
  • Collaborate with fitness, wellness, recovery, and corporate wellness teammates to create a complete performance and recovery experience for members.

Requirements

Required Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Certification: One or more of the following certifications is required: NASM CPT, ACSM CPT, NSCA CPT, NSCA-CSCS, ACE CPT, or ISSA CPT.
  • CPR/AED: Current CPR/AED certification required.
  • Functional Fitness & Endurance Training: Passion for performance training, functional fitness, strength training, endurance training, and helping athletes of all abilities improve.

  • Performance Tracking: Ability to conduct movement assessments, track progress, review performance metrics, and help members work toward measurable goals.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience in HYROX racing or training, CrossFit coaching, functional fitness coaching, strength and conditioning, endurance coaching, running coaching, group fitness instruction, or athletic performance training is highly desirable.
