Key responsibilities

  • Lead high-energy, structured HYROX training sessions that deliver a safe, effective, and results-driven Member experience.

  • Track and communicate Member progress, prepare Members for HYROX events, and foster a motivating, inclusive training environment.

Job description

Position Overview

  • EoS Fitness is looking for an energetic, knowledgeable, and results-driven HYROX Coach to lead Members through high-quality HYROX training experiences. The HYROX Coach is responsible for delivering safe, challenging, and engaging workouts that develop the combination of strength, endurance, cardiovascular capacity, movement efficiency, and mental resilience required for HYROX.
  • The HYROX Coach will coach Members through HYROX-specific movements and training methodologies while helping them improve overall fitness and prepare for their individual goals, whether that means completing their first HYROX race, improving their performance, or pursuing a personal best.
  • The ideal candidate is passionate about hybrid fitness, understands the demands of HYROX, and can create an environment that is both challenging and inclusive for Members of varying fitness levels.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead high-energy, structured HYROX training sessions that deliver a safe, effective, and results-driven Member experience.
  • Coach the key physical demands of HYROX, including running, strength endurance, functional movements, cardiovascular conditioning, and work capacity.
  • Instruct Members on proper technique and movement standards for HYROX-specific exercises, including sled push, sled pull, SkiErg, rowing, farmer's carry, sandbag lunges, burpee broad jumps, and wall balls.
  • Coach Members through running and functional stations while emphasizing efficient movement, pacing, transitions, and maintaining proper form under fatigue.
  • Provide clear demonstrations, coaching cues, feedback, corrections, and encouragement throughout each workout.
  • Modify and scale workouts appropriately based on individual fitness levels, abilities, experience, and training goals while maintaining the intent of the workout.
  • Develop Members' strength, endurance, aerobic capacity, muscular endurance, power, and overall conditioning through structured HYROX training.
  • Educate Members on HYROX race format, station standards, pacing, race strategy, transitions, and competition preparation.
  • Help Members establish realistic performance goals and understand the training required to achieve them.
  • Track and communicate Member progress using appropriate performance benchmarks, workout results, and other measurable indicators.
  • Prepare Members for HYROX events through race-specific workouts, simulations, benchmarks, and performance-focused training.
  • Create a competitive yet welcoming training environment that motivates Members to challenge themselves and support one another.
  • Build strong relationships with Members and foster accountability, engagement, and community within the HYROX program.
  • Encourage Members to participate in HYROX events and other EoS fitness experiences when appropriate.
  • Maintain a strong coaching presence throughout each session rather than simply demonstrating or facilitating the workout.
  • Monitor Members for proper technique, appropriate intensity, fatigue, and safety throughout training.
  • Ensure all HYROX and G-Fit equipment is used correctly, safely, and maintained in an organized condition.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment before, during, and after each class.
  • Follow EoS Fitness, G-Fit, and HYROX programming, coaching, safety, and operational standards.
  • Participate in required training, continuing education, staff meetings, and coaching development opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with G-Fit instructors, club leadership, and other fitness team members to deliver a consistent Member experience.
  • Represent EoS Fitness and the HYROX program with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to Member success.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience coaching group fitness, personal training, strength and conditioning, endurance training, functional fitness, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of hybrid training principles that combine strength, endurance, and functional fitness.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HYROX movements, workout structure, and training methodology.
  • HYROX competition and/or coaching experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to coach running, functional movements, strength-endurance exercises, and cardiovascular conditioning.
  • Ability to confidently demonstrate and coach HYROX-specific movements.
  • Ability to effectively scale and modify workouts for Members with different fitness levels and abilities.
  • Strong understanding of exercise technique, movement quality, pacing, and training intensity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate individuals and groups while providing individualized coaching and feedback.
  • High-energy, positive, and professional approach to coaching.
  • Current CPR/AED certification required or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
  • Current nationally recognized fitness or personal training certification preferred/required in accordance with EoS Fitness standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HYROX Performance Coach certification or completion of an approved HYROX coaching education pathway.
  • Personal HYROX race experience.
  • Experience preparing athletes or Members for HYROX or other hybrid fitness competitions.
  • Personal training certification.
  • Strength and conditioning certification or education.
  • Running or endurance coaching experience.
  • Experience coaching race simulations, performance testing, or structured training programs.
  • Experience working with both first-time participants and experienced athletes.
  • Coaching & Member Experience Expectations
  • The HYROX Coach is expected to provide more than instruction. The Coach should actively observe, coach, motivate, and educate Members throughout each session.
  • A successful HYROX Coach:
  • Coaches, rather than simply instructs - provides meaningful feedback and individualized attention throughout the workout.
  • Creates results - uses structured training, measurable benchmarks, and progressive coaching to help Members improve.
  • Understands the sport - can explain not only how to perform a movement, but why it matters to HYROX performance.
  • Builds confidence - helps Members recognize progress and develop the physical and mental confidence needed to take on challenging workouts and competition.
  • Creates community - fosters an environment where Members encourage one another and feel connected to the program.
  • Meets Members where they are - appropriately scales training while maintaining the purpose and challenge of the workout.
  • Brings energy - creates a motivating, enthusiastic, and professional training environment consistent with the EoS G-Fit experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate and coach HYROX-specific movements and exercises.
  • Ability to run, squat, lunge, jump, lift, carry, push, pull, row, and perform other functional movements required during training.
  • Ability to safely demonstrate the use of strength and cardiovascular equipment.
  • Ability to move throughout the training space and remain physically engaged for the duration of a class.
  • Ability to safely coach Members while they are performing high-intensity exercise.

Success in This Role

  • Success as a HYROX Coach is measured by the quality of the coaching experience and the progress of the Members. The successful Coach will help Members become stronger, faster, more conditioned, and more confident while creating an environment that makes them excited to return.
  • The HYROX Coach should be able to take the demands of HYROX-running, functional stations, strength endurance, pacing, transitions, and sustained effort-and translate them into safe, progressive, and engaging training experiences for Members at every levelÂ
