Job description

Job Opportunity: Chair of Emergency Medicine

Our organization is actively looking for a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician to take on the role of Chair in the Emergency Medicine Department at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. This position presents an exciting chance for a motivated physician to become part of a well-established, multidisciplinary team, supported by a dedicated staff that includes advanced practice providers, all aimed at delivering exceptional patient care.

About Newark Beth Israel Medical Center

As a prominent teaching institution affiliated with Rutgers University, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center hosts an ACGME-accredited three-year Emergency Medicine Residency Program with 24 residents. Additionally, it offers specialized fellowships in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, EMS/Disaster Medicine, Simulation, and Ultrasound.

The facility features a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department, a Rapid Diagnostic Unit (RDU) staffed by Emergency Department physicians, and a Fast Track/Intake area designed for patients with lower acuity needs.

Our healthcare system comprises collaborative service lines that include employed physicians and advanced practice providers in areas such as Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, Anesthesia, Radiology, and Mobile Health. All services report to the Chief Clinical Officer, working together to enhance efficiency, safety, quality, and patient experience.

New hires will be expected to uphold the high standards of healthcare as outlined by the medical staff, hospital administration, and Board of Trustees.

Role Overview

As the largest integrated healthcare delivery system in New Jersey, we offer competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package. The selected physician will have opportunities to educate, supervise, and support residents. The Chair of Emergency Medicine will engage in clinical practice within the department, oversee all clinical operations, and provide leadership for academic initiatives at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. This role also involves serving as a faculty member in a robust academic training program, developing policies to enhance quality and safety, and fostering the growth of the Emergency Medicine Department.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $350,000 and $480,000 annually. The final compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
