Job Title: Sr. ISP Estimator
Job Type: Direct Hire
Location: Sterling, VA
Work Mode: onsite 5 days/week

Salary Range: $115,000- $130,000 +bonus eligible and strong benefits package
Overview: Our client, a leading full-service provider of communications, electrical, and utility infrastructure solutions specializing in data centers, fiber, and smart city projects across the United States is seeking a mid-senior level ISP Estimator for their Sterling, VA office and immediate surrounding areas.
The Senior ISP Estimator will play a critical role in developing accurate, competitive, and profitable cost proposals for low-voltage infrastructure and structured cabling systems within data centers, hyperscale environments, and enterprise facilities nationwide.
This individual will bring extensive expertise in estimating complex internal buildouts, analyzing specifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that estimates align with real-world constructability and client requirements. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills, deep familiarity with structured cabling standards, and a track record of success in supporting large-scale mission-critical projects. They will report to the Director of ISP, and CCO respectively.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for ISP (Inside Plant) construction projects, including fiber and copper cabling, containment systems, racks, cabinets, power, grounding, and other low-voltage infrastructure.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and RFPs to determine scope, materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
  • Develop takeoffs, bills of materials, and pricing models for both self-performed and subcontracted work.
  • Collaborate with project management, engineering, and field operations to ensure constructability and alignment of estimates with field conditions.
  • Support proposal preparation, pricing strategy, and bid presentations for hyperscalers, data center operators, and carrier clients.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive database of unit pricing, vendor quotes, and labor productivity metrics.
  • Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with scope requirements.
  • Participate in project hand-offs, providing detailed cost breakdowns and scope clarification to project management teams.
  • Continuously refine estimating processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with corporate financial goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years of experience estimating low-voltage or structured cabling projects, ideally within data centers, hyperscale facilities, or carrier hotels.
  • Strong knowledge of ISP construction methodologies, including rack and cabinet builds, ladder rack installation, pathway design, testing, labeling, and fiber/copper terminations.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NEC, as well as current best practices in structured cabling.
  • Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software such as Bluebeam, Accubid, PlanSwift, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external clients.
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism in fast-paced environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience supporting hyperscaler clients such as AWS, Google, Meta, or Microsoft, or large data center operators such as CloudHQ, Digital Realty, or Equinix.
  • Working knowledge of ISP and OSP cost integration for turnkey network infrastructure builds.
  • Experience with design-build or design-assist estimating approaches.
  • Established vendor and subcontractor relationships within the low-voltage and structured cabling industries.
