Job description

The Environmental Services Technician 2 plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in patient care areas with elevated infection control standards. This position is responsible for performing terminal cleaning of patient rooms-including isolation rooms-and ensuring compliance with established infection prevention protocols. The role also includes cleaning and disinfecting procedural and surgical areas, requiring adherence to sterile field guidelines. This position demands advanced knowledge of disinfection techniques and best practices in high-risk clinical environments. All duties are performed in alignment with Tampa General Hospital's mission, vision, and values.

  • One (1) year of experience in environmental services, including experience in a healthcare setting. 

  • Strong understanding of infection prevention measures and handling of biohazardous waste. 

  • Experience working closely with clinical teams to ensure compliance with sterile field protocols.
