Overview

Safely operate equipment used in the packaging of finished products while supporting Operators, Crew Leaders, Lead Operators, Contract Formulators, Site Support Services, and Material Handlers to ensure efficient and safe production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations

  • Operate equipment involved in the packaging of finished products according to established procedures.

  • Obtain or assemble containers; clean, label, fill, seal, palletize, and stretch-wrap finished goods.

  • Complete all required documentation and production records accurately.

  • Assist with the startup and shutdown of production operations alongside Operators, Crew Leaders, Lead Operators, Contract Formulators, Site Support Services, and Material Handlers.

  • Report operational issues, equipment concerns, and downtime to supervision in a timely manner.

  • Maintain plant cleanliness by cleaning production areas as directed by supervision.

  • Remove snow from building entrances, roofs, and areas around railroad switches and firehouses when required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work may take place inside and outside plant Production, Stores, and Warehouse buildings.

  • Duties may also occur at railcars, trailer trucks, and their respective loading and unloading stations.

  • Role may require climbing ladders and stairs and working in elevated areas such as roofs or dust collectors.

  • Work environments may include noise, varying temperatures, and inclement weather conditions.

  • Position involves stooping, bending, and heavy lifting.

  • Duties performed in operating areas may involve working with toxic and hazardous chemicals around moving machinery.

Shifts

Rotational shift schedule depending on production demand:

  • 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

  • 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

  • 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM

(Most positions are typically on first or second shift.)

Equipment

Job-Related Equipment

  • Screw conveyors, blenders, storage vessels, pumps, and mills

  • Fork trucks and packaging equipment

  • Washing and cleaning equipment and utensils

  • Dust houses, filters, sealers, and scales

  • Invert-a-bins

  • Manual and power-operated overhead lifting devices

  • Additional related equipment as required

Safety Equipment

  • Respirators

  • Gloves

  • Coveralls

  • Hard hats

  • Barrier suits and aprons

  • Goggles and other protective equipment

(All work must be performed in accordance with applicable safety procedures.)

Safety & Health

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.

  • Attend required safety meetings and training sessions.

  • Immediately report unsafe conditions to supervision.

  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.

  • Review and understand safety materials such as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Job Safety Information (JSI).

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and actively contribute to safety improvements.

Environmental Responsibility

  • Report any condition, no matter how minor, that could impact environmental controls.

  • Perform all duties in a manner that minimizes waste and supports environmental compliance.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Language: Employee must be able to read and write English fluently in order to fulfill job requirements and complete daily process documentation accurately.

Pay Rate: $22.09 per hour
