Job description

We are seeking an experienced iSeries Software Developer to support, enhance, and maintain warehouse management system (WMS) applications running on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. This role will work closely with operations, IT infrastructure, and business teams to develop and support warehouse, distribution, and inventory management solutions that improve efficiency and reliability across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and support IBM i / AS400 warehouse management applications.
  • Design and modify RPG, RPGLE, CL, SQL, and DB2 programs related to warehouse operations.
  • Support WMS integrations with ERP systems, handheld RF devices, barcode scanners, shipping systems, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution for warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, deployments, and change management processes.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, interfaces, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations teams to identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure application stability and data integrity.
  • Assist with after-hours support as needed for critical warehouse operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of IBM i (AS400/iSeries) development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Strong experience with RPG IV / RPGLE, CL, SQL, and DB2 for i.
  • Experience supporting or developing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Knowledge of inventory control, shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and distribution processes.
  • Experience with EDI, APIs, or system integrations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

This position is in-office Monday through Friday in Memphis, TN. Occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required during implementations or critical outages.
