Job description

Primary Purpose:
Ensure safe orderly transportation of students on assigned route; operate school bus that transports
students to and from school. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and
strategic plan of Alvin ISD.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
  • Must be 21 years of age with a High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid Texas Commercial driver's license.
  • DPS School Bus Driver certification.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and drug and alcohol test
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to complete bus driver safety training.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work well with children.
  •  Knowledge of student discipline procedures.
  • Ability to operate a school bus.
  • Ability to pass a basic physical fitness test.
  Experience:
  • Previous Bus Driving
Salary:  Starting at $21.40 per hour - 6 hours/days - 177 days
