Work Location: Candidates must reside in California and be able to work from our Irvine, California office in accordance with the position's hybrid work schedule. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • 15+ (minimum 10) years' experience in a highly technical research and development, engineering and/or manufacturing environments or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an applicable Engineering related field or equivalent, Electrical and/or Computer Engineering preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical development and/or analysis of engineering application(s) (electrical, mechanical, hardware, firmware, software, etc.)
  • At least 5 years' exposure to managing technical projects; including but not limited to schedules, budgets and other resources
  • Demonstrated skill at galvanizing a multi-disciplinary team in working towards a common goal
  • Experience interacting with Customers and building relationships centered around technical understanding and mission objectives
  • Experience and competent in working with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, and Project)
  • Experience with technology development process working closely with multiple disciplines such as electronics, mechanical, software design engineers and management. AS9100 experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with system integration, system test, production test support, troubleshooting, verification, and customer integration of electronic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, ICDs, assembly records, test procedures, and customer interface documentation
  • Experience supporting embedded systems, firmware/software integration, command and telemetry interfaces, communication protocols, and regression testing
  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, logic analyzers, DAQ systems, thermal chambers, and production test equipment
  • Experience performing or supporting electronics analysis and simulation using PSpice, LTspice, MATLAB, or equivalent tools
  • Experience supporting thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, functional ATP, safe-to-mate, and customer integration testing
  • Experience with Jama, DOORS, or equivalent preferred.

Key Results:

  • Interfaces with customers, the Development Team, and Program Managers to establish program requirements, system specification(s), system design and architecture, and deliverables to meet cost and schedule budgets
  • Develops test plans and test procedures based on program requirements
  • Analyzes requirements for compliance when testing is not practical
  • Maintains high level view of the system objectives to ensure elements of the system integrate successfully to satisfy the needs of the Customer, as specified in documentation
  • Ensures smooth and effective integration of internal subsystems, and with customer system interfaces
  • With Program Manager, ensures programs stay "on budget" and "on time" with efficient and effective internal and external stakeholder communication
  • Ensures quality standards are met 100% of the time
  • Senior member of systems engineers team, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise with junior team members
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant tools and technologies
  • Successful development and implementation of new solutions working effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:


  • Plans, coordinates and monitors the technical performance of Company programs
  • Lead system integration, checkout, test execution, troubleshooting, and verification activities for development and production programs
  • Assists in the development of specifications from customer requirements
  • Update and maintain compliance matrices, ICDs, functional block diagrams, test plans, ATPs, QTPs, verification reports, and related program deliverables
  • Orchestrates project designs, prototype builds and testing, third party environmental testing, final acceptance validation, and project documentation
  • Plan and coordinate test readiness, including UUT configuration, software/firmware version, equipment calibration, test scripts, cables, fixtures, and anomaly handling
  • Execute or support hands-on lab testing using standard electrical test equipment, environmental chambers, and production test equipment
  • Support embedded firmware/software integration, interface checkout, logs, checksum/CRC behavior, software/firmware updates, and regression testing
  • Ensures adherence to program requirements
  • Eliminates internal and external ambiguities in the design and development process
  • Identifies technical program problems and leads the Development Team towards solving them
  • Review test results and determine whether data supports compliance, requires retest, requires analysis, or requires anomaly disposition
  • Own verification evidence closure for assigned requirements, including test records, reports, analysis, inspection records, anomaly dispositions, and compliance matrix updates
  • Support customer-facing integration activities, including remote and onsite technical support, interface checkout, anomaly investigation, data review, and action closure
  • Work closely with System Engineering Manager and/or Director of Engineering to ensure that program system design meets requirements and architecture
  • Senior member of systems engineers team, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise with junior team members
  • Takes ownership of the engineering processes and is the principal quality liaison
  • Other activities as identified and assigned.
