Job description

Description

Essential Purpose: To provide support to the service staff to maintain proper flow of guest service and optimal appearance of the restaurant.

Essential Duties: 

  • To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • To work as a team with server in performing routine support services in the restaurant, including setting up dining room; clearing and resetting tables between courses and after meals; providing guests with water, butter, and appetizers; and serving all food and beverages, as requested by the server.
  • To provide prompt, efficient, and gracious customer service to IRD guests, including taking and properly delivering food and beverage orders; and opening, closing, and presenting guest checks.
  • To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all credit card, and gift card transactions. 
  • To ensure an adequate supply of clean, presentable linens, silverware, and all other accessories are prepared for the meal service and available at the bus station.
  • To understand all menu items and wine list to assist guests, as needed.
  • To satisfactorily perform all opening/closing duties, as directed.
  • To follow all policies and procedures of the food and beverage department and Temecula Creek Inn
  • To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions. 
  • To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times. 
  • To practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others. 
  • To comply with company and departmental safety rules and regulations, including the proper handling of all relevant equipment.
  • To attend all mandatory meetings, as directed. 
  • To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.


Requirements

Knowledge + Education: Able to read, write, and speak basic English well enough to understand directions and guest requests. Must have at least one year experience as busperson in a dinner house. Hotel restaurant experience preferred. 

Skills: Detail oriented, organized and efficient, safety minded, and learns quickly. High quality standards for production and service. Strong verbal communications skills. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.


Physical Demands: Stands/walks short distances throughout shift. Frequently required to handle and carry ice tubs, beverage cases, and other objects weighing up to 30 lbs. over short to moderate distances. Bends, stoops, reaches, and pushes to perform routine tasks. Frequent use of stairs, daily. Must be able to work under pressure.
