POSITION SUMMARY
IPM Scout is a Tech Role. Responsible for scouting plants of all growth stages. Mapping, marking, and reporting all pest issues. Help ensure that pest issues are caught before entering grow spaces and before becoming problematic.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Scouting plants of all stages, as well as during receiving
  • Mapping, marking, documenting and reporting of all pest and plant health issues
  • Notifying IPM Manager and Cultivation Staff of issues
  • Assist applicators as necessary with applications of Biological Control Insects, and yellow sticky tape
  • Assist Fertigation Supervisor with chemigation/inoculation of grow medium
  • Assist IPM Manager with inventory
  • Organize personal schedule to maximize productivity and time management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent; AA or BS a plus, basic experience in a related technical field, may be substituted by demonstrated proficiency
  • Previous Agricultural or Cannabis Production experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to keep focused for long periods of time
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Proven ability to take and follow precise orders from a supervisor
  • Good documentation and computer skills
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing well
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time looking at plants, maintaining focus throughout. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Good eyesight is important in being able to see pests with the naked eye as well as with a microscope. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
