Assistant Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Supervisor
Job Title: Assistant Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Supervisor Reports To: Director of District Grounds/IPM

Primary Purpose: Use a multi-tactical approach to preventing pest problems. The Assistant IPM Coordinator/Certified Applicator will incorporate and oversee integrated pest management procedures into the maintenance program conducted by our District for control for indoor and outdoor pest problems.
Qualifications/Skills: Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
- Valid Certified Applicator's License from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of school IPM laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of methods and materials for pest control and TDA regulations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in Spanish, preferred.
- Ability to operate pesticide application equipment.
- Ability to utilize the computer to update and close work orders and other work related electronic communication in English.
Experience:
- Five (5) years as a certified applicator within a state or federal IPM Program.
Major Duties andResponsibilities: Pest Management:
- Oversee day-to-day pest management needs of the District.
- Provide written approval/justifications for use of products on the yellow list.
- Ensure that proper pesticide application records are maintained.
- Participate in IPM training courses approved for school IPM personnel by the TDA.
- Consult with the IPM Coordinator concerning use of products not on Green or Yellow list.
- Authorize emergency treatments as provided for by the TDA guidelines.
- Adhere to all industry and District safety policies and procedures.
- Respond to work orders issued for interior and exterior pest control and participate in the application of pesticides for pest/insect control.
- Prepare and maintain documentation in relation to State of Texas Department of Agriculture standards and insure compliance to those codes in performance of all assigned work tasks. Respond to emergency call outs as needed.
- Drive District vehicle to perform assigned duties. Keep vehicle neat and clean. Perform project work and special assignments as assigned throughout the District.
Other:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SupervisoryResponsibilities: Supervise the Certified applicator and the Herbicide Applicator.
Equipment Used: Computer, various office equipment, pest control application devices.
Working Conditions: Mental Demands:
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Work with frequent interruptions.
- This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent walking, twisting, reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, moderate lifting and carrying (105 lbs.) and crawling in tight spaces.
- Occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
Environmental Factors:
- Required to use chemicals daily.
- Exposure to noise.
- Work outside.
- Work inside without air conditioning.
- Exposure to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals and noxious odors.
