Job description

Inova Health is looking for a dedicated Inpatient Psychiatrist to join the team. Inova Behavioral Health supports Inova's overall mission, promoting total wellness - mind and body - by offering a full spectrum of mental health and addiction treatment services to the surrounding Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, metropolitan community. 

Our extensive continuum of care includes an urgent psychiatric and addiction assessment center (IPAC), inpatient psychiatry, inpatient detoxification, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), outpatient psychiatric appointments and outpatient counseling services. 

Our unit operates on a three-pronged model of care: The first is trauma informed care. The second is patient and family centered care. We strive to provide care that is specific to each individual and within the context of the family. Lastly, our staff is trained in Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) tools to identify lagging skills while resolving issues and difficulties in a collaborative and mutually satisfactory way.  

We have a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team that consists of: 

  • Psychiatrists 
  • Licensed Therapists 
  • Social Workers 
  • Psychiatric Nurses 
  • Mental Health Technicians

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Work schedule:Monday thru Friday 
  • Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution. Board eligible or board certified in psychiatry. 
  • Experience: successful completion of psychiatry residency program.
  • Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
  • Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
  • Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services

Preferred Qualifications: 

One year of experience is preferred. 

Applicants may be considered for current and future opportunities including full time, part time and PRN positions.
